http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36435587 Interesting analysis of Stones' season compared to other defenders. Seems the negative opinions are based solely on errors leading to goals (3 this season) as he compares favourably in almost every other measure, even with Pique.
All the top managers will be fully aware of these facts and rightly take no notice of media rubbish. He is also younger than all the people he compares with. The media will be drooling over him in 2 years time.
Wonder if there's a school of thought out there that it's between Stones and Smalling for one of the CB places and they're trying to push Smalling. Stones is the better footballer despite not having an overall as good a season as Smallling. However, Smalling is error prone and his positional sense is sometimes left wanting. Obviously tinged with bias but I would go with Stones every time.
Here's my Stones Analysis Admitted to hospital 11-May. Had a CT scan, Kidney Stone diagnosed. 12-May, stent inserted between kidney and bladder. Currently; peeing for England and waiting for appointment for stone to be lasered and stent removed.
Re: Here's my Stones Analysis Didn't stop me going to Walsall and Wembley. I didn't go to the first leg because I only got out of hospital the day before. I must have gone to the bog 6 or 7 times during both those games.
