    I used to enjoy setting the Subbuteo up, getting the stands sorted, lining the players up etc but then simply couldn’t be bothered with it so went back to the PlayStation and got stuck into FIFA98.

    I had subbuteo and was delighted to get Barnsley home and away teams from John Britain’s. I also had England and it was remarkable how often they used to lose to Barnsley.
    Most painful thing in the world when you stood on a player n’all.

    I also had the Barnsley home team, likewise from John Britain's, and then to avoid a colour clash I got the Southport home team (yellow shirts, black shorts). Proper teams! My mate had England and Everton. I like to think he's probably an armchair Sky watcher these days, whereas I'm still getting my reality fix at Oakwell
