Beat me to it! "There should be no relegation from the Premier League". Well mate, there is and I suspect your 100 million debt will be rather more difficult to service now you're not there.
I think that Blackburn Birmingham and Bolton are all going to be in the **** money wise next season. I think Birmingham have about three weeks to publish the books or face a transfer embargo going into the new season. I'll add west ham to that list if they fail to beat Blackpool as I suspect gold and Sullivan are not going to be up for chucking millions more in every week to cover the shortfall.
No doubt the huge and deeply unfair parachute payments will continue to soften the blow somewhat, however you've got to fear for the likes of Bolton given their levels of debt and their need to find ways to service this without Premier league money/sponsorship etc. Totally agree it couldn't have happened to a more deserving chairman than Gartside, given his disgraceful attempts to get the idea/discussion around no promotion/relegation (not to mention his tentative support for the 39th game) onto the league's agenda, plus it'll be nice to see Owen Coyle forced to return to Burnley next season having binned them off so swiftly for the supposedly more prestigious and high profile Bolton job. Sweet.
Well he's gonna get his 39th game at last. And his 40th,41st,42nd,43rd,44th,45th and 46th. Hopefully another relegation for the tw*t next season then we'll see if he's still talking "premier 2" then.
another big club in this division, can just see keith hills excuses already for the season of hell that is awaiting us!!!
Agreed. The likes of Gartside are part of the problem in football. I hope he enjoys the reality of most 'real' fans however as Red West quite rightly points out the parachute payments they receive for the next four years will help to cushion their fall.
