yesterday was all about football side he liked what they had to say and came back today to speak money, lets see how that went
brace yourselves ladies and gents. genuinely think it just is what it is. i don't think any decision will be made until he's discussed with the ICT Chairman. this is a huge move. he's currently flying where he is, family settled, fantastic lifestyle. he's a legend in scotland now and is lord of the manor. moving to barnsley was always going to have to be a big sell. it's obviously a close call, or it would have been announced by now. my honest opinion? once he gets back to inverness, he'll be quickly reminded of all that. the ICT Chairman will sell this. butcher to say no. then wait for the ridiculous rowing witch hunt to reach fever pitch..ever though he's done absolutely nothing wrong in all this
I think he's said yes to Don already, but has gone back up to ICT to tell their chairmen in person before the news breaks that he's accepted the job. The Don is patting himself on the back as we speak.
again, surely that's been discussed already? surely? "yes ok, i'll join...just need to check first, if my number 2 is up for it"
Of course Malpas will join up, otherwise Butcher would not have started discussions with BFC in first place. As Dyson often states "hold yer nerve"..........
@matthewmurray87: #BarnsleyFC hoped to have an answer from Butcher by now but they are still confident of a decision tonight.
In all fairness, whichever way the decision goes, I'll say now that I've been impressed with the two managers we've gone for in this process. If we can't persuade them to come then I'm confident that we're at least trying to attract the best candidates.
You can say what you want about that league but he's in a very comfortable position where he is and can't really fail so I can see why it would take him a while to come to a decision. He's knocking on now though in terms of working so the only reason I think he'd come here is for one last big challenge...he'll probably earn a few bob more down here as well. Interesting that his odds on becoming the Donny manager have shortened drastically, I can see why people would see them as another option but they aren't guaranteed to be promoted and we are far from dead and buried when it comes to getting relegated.
