i can't fire me laptop up, Every time I reboot it just goes to a black screen. I can get into safe mode alright. I've restored to an earlier date, cleaned the registry, Spybotted it and nothing's working. Any ideas?

    TIA.

Sounds like your hard-drive is playing up, or the OS at least...

I'd try disabling all drives barring the hard-disk in BIOS, that will tell you if its the Hard-drive. If that dosn't work - might be worth doing a rebuild - or get a new Hard-drive with pre-installed OS if you can't be bothered to rebuild it.

However - on a serious note.

Check your memory, and see if it's seated proper like. The video on a laptop uses ram memory rather than having it's own sometimes.

I think it means it's full. If you shake it for a bit all the ink disappears like magic and you can start your picture again.

Take the back off - where the RAM is seated...

Take out the RAM, give it a clean and then put it back in.

There should be a catch/opening/panel on the base of your laptop - obviously one for the battery, one for the hard disk and one for the RAM.

I take it you know what RAM looks like?

    Whatever you do

DON'T restore to an earlier date, clean the registry, or use Spybot - it won't do any good.

You could try deleting all the porn though!

I think I know what is it mate mine did it the other day

It's a problem with a recent update from microsoft. You need to restore to an earlier timea few days should be enough and then turn off automatic updates. When it shuts down does it say something about configuring updates? Mine did
