    got a new mp3/wma player for chrimbo, gonna download files onto it later, which format eats up the least memory?

    wma or mp3???

    MP3 is the better one in my opinion, make suree that when you rip from CD to your PC that you rip at 128Kbps - it's hard to tell the difference in sound from 256Kbps and uses half the memory.

    using windows media player to download off CD's but not sure how to set bit rate?

    In media player go to Tools --> Options. Then click on the Rip Music tab. You can change the bitrate there.


    I would use mp3 but only because its the more common format and I have an iPod. But theres very little difference in file size so wma would be fine.
