It's not just Ian McMillan though is it It's any so-called celebrity who has dared to show their face at a Barnsley match.
RE: Wrong on so many levels I agree. Mrs Burgundy Red and I went with Turvey and Mrs Turvey to see him perform a few years back and it was a great night out. He's very entertaining and I find some of his work very moving. Not everyone's cup of tea maybe but certainly worth his air time.
RE: Wrong on so many levels Fair enough....................If you're into that sort of thing, I've some old Janet and John books in the attic you can have.
RE: No it's Daftasa nt nt I just wish he was a Wednesday fan so he could embarrass them instead of us.
"I've some old Janet and John books in the attic" Go on, admit it. They're still in your "to read" pile aren't they? It's performance poetry. It's not supposed to be complex and obscure it's supposed to be entertaining. Rather than criticise him from afar I went to see him perform and I found him entertaining. He did exactly what he said on the tin.
Well you better get used to him. He's part of the opening for MOTD tomorrow. Nice fella, genuine long-time supporter and defends his tarn every time I've seen him on 'owt. Why do you feel the need to put down folk like him? Is it just because he's done well for himself?
RE: "I've some old Janet and John books in the attic" 'It's not supposed to be complex and obscure it's supposed to be entertaining'. You seem to be overly emphasising the 'suppossed' - you sure you really think he is entertaining or just think he is 'suppossed' to be entertaining?!
RE: "I've some old Janet and John books in the attic" For someone who can't spell the word you seem particularly picky about its usage.
RE: Well you better get used to him. I wondered how long the accusation of 'it being down to him doing well'. On that basis then why would I go out of my way to promote Darren Gough, Rita Britton, Mick McCarthy etc etc????? - Because all the aforementioned have 100x more talent to be envious of than Mr McMillan.
RE: "I've some old Janet and John books in the attic" Sorry, I didn't realise we were now down to nit picking point scoring on grammar. I'm not as well schooled as McMillan you know.
Oh for sure, he's no Keats But he puts in as much effort as all those you mention, promoting literacy, taking language and reading out to schools. Your argument is pointless, at best.
RE: Well you better get used to him. So you're not one of these who belittles Darren Gough's support, as he's really a Spurs fan you know!
RE: "I've some old Janet and John books in the attic" I figured that the accusation of overly emphasising "supposed" was nit picking but perhaps I misinterpreted your comment. I don't want to fall out with any Barnsley fan tonight of all nights so I think we'll have to agree to differ on this one. That's art for you.
RE: "I've some old Janet and John books in the attic" No falling out Burgundy at all. I respect your opinion and a lively exchange of views never hurt anyone. Hope we both enjoy tomorrow's game and get the right result.
RE: Well you better get used to him. I know he is a Spurs fan but overall he scores more points than he loses IMHO. He doesn't come over as being Kipper Jackson having a bad hair day which is always a bonus.
RE: "I've some old Janet and John books in the attic" and there I thought i was a typo and you had missed an 'F' off. Didn't want to stir the hornets nest by mentioning it however!
