I agree. Mrs Burgundy Red and I went with Turvey and Mrs Turvey to see him perform a few years back and it was a great night out. He's very entertaining and I find some of his work very moving. Not everyone's cup of tea maybe but certainly worth his air time.

 

His personality?

Approachable, Jovial, articulate, intelligent. Aye, what a lovely person.

It's performance poetry. It's not supposed to be complex and obscure it's supposed to be entertaining. Rather than criticise him from afar I went to see him perform and I found him entertaining. He did exactly what he said on the tin.

 

Well you better get used to him.

He's part of the opening for MOTD tomorrow. Nice fella, genuine long-time supporter and defends his tarn every time I've seen him on 'owt. Why do you feel the need to put down folk like him? Is it just because he's done well for himself?

You seem to be overly emphasising the 'suppossed' - you sure you really think he is entertaining or just think he is 'suppossed' to be entertaining?!

I wondered how long the accusation of 'it being down to him doing well'.

On that basis then why would I go out of my way to promote Darren Gough, Rita Britton, Mick McCarthy etc etc????? - Because all the aforementioned have 100x more talent to be envious of than Mr McMillan.

Oh for sure, he's no Keats

But he puts in as much effort as all those you mention, promoting literacy, taking language and reading out to schools. Your argument is pointless, at best.

I know he is a Spurs fan but overall he scores more points than he loses IMHO. He doesn't come over as being Kipper Jackson having a bad hair day which is always a bonus.
