Its a hell of a knock for any young player who has been with a Prem team since school days to be told you are not going to be part of their plans and can move on. They generally have to pick up the pieces in the Champ or lower and the ever-so-caring agents will endevour to make life as cushty as possible for them. Which means bleeding whoever they can for as much dosh as they can. The riches and quality of football that would have been GUARANTEED in the prem are now only a dream. With agents working as they do, they are not going to guide their client to the next-best-thing footie-wise, they are going to guide them to the teams with the biggest chequebooks outside the Prem. Imagine how downAdam must feel being told Liverpool have no need for him ? Whats going to cheer him up most at his present point in time ? The best God-damn weekly wage his agent can get him.

I personally think Adam was a good player when I saw him, and as an outsider would think Barnsley could be a good next step. I have still not given up hope of seeing him back at Oakwell, but beware the agent ! ! !

And beware the ghosts of Lumsden, Nads and Chopra too, Adam lad ! !

    Agree 100%

I remember Lumsden was signed after the deafening clamour of the fans for him, like he was the next Maradona - and to be fair I was one of them! With the way people are on about Hammill, you would think he's the next Ronaldo and the answer to all our prayers. Lets see. Davey needs to get things right in other departments as well, Hammill will NOT be the difference between relegation and staying up this season!

If the money is more important to him, is he the sort of player we'd really want? If he wants Third Division football then we can't offer him that either.

Personally I'd thought there was more to him than that, that he'd want to be playing against Newcastle and Boro rather than Exeter and Colchester. I'd like to think he sees a move to us as better for his career, even if we're not offering the most money, and I'd love him to make that decision.

But if he does go to the White *****, we'll know what sort of person he really is - and he'll be Leeds Scum, so fook him.

    sfunny really....

cos if you read Leeds boards, their fans are saying that if he comes to Barnsley its cos he's gone for the money. They don't seem confident in what they will pay. The only valid arguement they have is that Hammill would play infront of 30k crowds at home there. Is that really worth dropping a league for?

If he's a true Scouser, he won't be signing for LUFC nt

Leeds get the odd 30k gate, he'd be getting more of them playing for you, Us, Blades, Newcastle, Boro, Forest, Derby etc

Like that counts for anything these days..remember Wayne "Once a Blue Always a Blue" Rooney or Leeds Scum Alan Smith both signing for Man Utd

Or Chris "Break me in half and it says Barnsley" Morgan..

Players only interested in one thing these days, money...end of
