Anyone tried it? Any good? Is there maybe something better near there? Looking to have Saturday lunch there with my sister's family. Could do with it being dog friendly too. Thanks chaps.
The British Oak a little further along the road is much better - good home cooked food, no nonsense and reasonably priced. They also do some good hand pulled ales. The pub itself is a little tired, but don't be put off.
British Oak is shut for a refurb , not been down to the Navigation since it reopened after flooding a few years back
Oh, really? Definitely needed one - we were there just after Christmas and it was looking really distressed. Good food though.
Used to go regularly pre-kids, and always had good beers on - Tim Taylor Etc. Not been for 10 years. Nice in summer walking along the waterside.
I used to enjoy the rad plastic tree with a slide on it when I was a lad. If you do end up going don't be put off by the urine smell best slide in a 10mile radius and if you're well behaved you'll get pop and crisps 10/10
Looks like you'll have to chance it mate. Let us know how you get on. I'd be more worried about how you are going to get back in time for the game though- you'll need to be finished for 2.15 to make it from there.
You could always walk down the canal to Healey Bottom and the Brewers Pride (weather permitting) great beer good food and dogs welcome
