These extra officials

What do that actually do?

Did anyone see that Italian corner the ball went out of play less than a foot away from him and he still looked at the linesman who's view was blocked to see what his decision was.

 

That my friend is mr Martin Atkinson , who missed the blatant Howard pen at anfield.

 

I had only seen bits so I wasn't aware who the officials where.


But seriously what do they do?

 

They get an excellent view of the game... other than that. Who knows not me........

 

I think the point is that they tell the referee their view but without using their arms to signal their decisions unlike the ref and the linesmen. Don't think they make much difference though personally.

 

Absolutely nothing. Complete waste of time.
