Yes its a great place. Longest street in the World. But don't miss a trip to Niagra a short distance from Toronto, do one of the organized version with guides and be sure to go on 'Maid of the Mist' boat trip. There is an original settlers village just outside, where all the orinal buildings are occupied with people doing their original jobs, a bit like Beamish. Well worth a trip.
But the main street in Toronto is a bit like Vegas Strip and just to walk down is entertaining and loads of eat and drink places. We stayed at The Chelsea Inn Hotel and I had stayed previously when I was on Company Expense. Not sure of the cost now but it is very central.

Toronto is Okay. Major League baseball is on in July... Niagara is also one of Canada's wine regions. There are many very good wineries and wine tours on the way to Niagara Falls. As far as tourist cities in Canada though, you can't beat Montreal or Vancouver...

    Montreal is way better

Spent a fair bit of time in Toronto - just like any North american city - except this one is canadian!
Not much heart or the character of Chicago, NYC or San Fran.
Montreal is a way better place to visit ( despite the French thing ) , loads to do, great restaurants, clubs, bars. One of my favourite cities - spent 3 months there.

it says on Wiki that he was 2008 co-winner of the Canadian Golden Boot, must be a poor league
