I have heard a good way to boost your ratio is to download part of a highly sought after file, or files, and then share the partially downloaded files. But the problem is I have no idea how I could do this. I have started to download a couple of files, but when I pause or stop the torrent downloading even the upload stops or pauses. Is there any way I can share a partially downloaded file on uTorrent, without me having to actually download the full file myself?

    Cheers.

Sorry about that first blank posting, but if you find out how to sort your problem, let me know, cos I'm going to be in the same boat pretty soon. My ratio is ***** /poo and I can't seem to alter it.

Will do mate. I think i'm gonna get booted off in 4 days - I don't like leaving my pc on all night. If I can't figure it out it looks like thats the only way - I just dont want to resort to that.

Mate, I have a minor solution (I think). I have started to download a few sought after files from TorrentLeech. But when downloading, I have gone into preferences (along the top bar) of uTorrent. In the connections section of preferences, I have set a maximum download speed of 10kb/s. So although the files are still downloading, other files are being uploaded at a faster rate. Hopefully, over a period of time, this may work out alright.

What's regarded as a good ratio?

Also, how does the partially downloaded technique improve your ratio more than a totally downloaded file? Although you'll get a great ratio on that particular file surely surely the amount you've uploaded from that file will just be compared to all your other downloads so the only important thing is the highly sought after part. Or am I missing something?

For torrentleech you have to have a 40% upload rating of whatever you have downloaded

    Cheers...

I notice that some trackers are refusing me and wonder if they are looking at my overall ratio (2.4) or at certain files which I may have downloaded via them. I always ensure the ratio on individual downloads is greater than 1 (100%). Not (knowingly) used TorrentLeech. Do they give better download speeds or summert?
