    It was part of a three event deal to "soften up " the Scottish over the ongoing devolution stuff. Commonwealth Games, tour de France and one other. To help Scotland tourism.
    Yorkshire's success cocked it up, and they were asked to back out.

    That's what the representative from the Yorkshire bid team said.

    I will be watching the grand depart finish and 2nd day in Knaresborough. Will probably wear jeans and a tshirt. Might wear a yellow tshirt to get right in the spirit.

    I'll be there in my Lycra, (infact going to buy a new outfit jsut for the occasion) I hope they stop at the traffic lights tho

    Love cycling, but no one except people racing bikes should wear lycra. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

    Im going to find me a good climb and camp out :)

    Day 1, cycling up from home to B6160 and settle down for the climb just before Kidstones on way to Aysgarth with my camera. Will cycle home Tour route after the roads re-open. Day 2, not sure but will probably cycle on to Addingham. Trouble is, that will be downhill and seeing how bloody fast these Pro's go at Otley Cycle Races last week they will pass in the blink of an eye, so might cycle up to Mickey Finn's to watch (if that's OK Mickey - I will fetch you a tinny). :)

    All in all, really looking forward to it. Did a beautiful ride in Dales yesterday - the riders are in for a treat if it is like that.
