He's halted payments to the WHO and mumbled something about saliva from infected patients curing Covid-19 He's now talking about how great the economy is
He's just said, and I kid you not, that "so and so distributes face masks, which turned out well for everybody". He said that. I heard him.
I keep imagining a cuckoo on a spring firing out of his head like in the Simpsons but he is beyond parody.
Yes, afraid so. He's a moron, but there are millions of morons in the USA. That's how he ended up as president. my money is on him winning a second term. Looking over the pond at least makes me feel better that we have the floppy haired one.
Wouldn't surprise me if he did win, his team worked out long ago they didn't need to appeal to everyone so were better playing heavily to those who support him. It's the same strategy that gave us Brexit and a Tory win at the last election. Some of the WHO statements and decisions at the beginning of this are open to criticism. I don't know how much influence China had on that. So it gives Trump a angle of attack. Now of course the US made it's own decisions and Trump even praised China at one point but he will just not mention that.
He said the other day he's got authority over everything. What's the odds he tries to suspend the election on emergency grounds whilst at the same time reopening certain parts of the country and its economy.
Funnily enough I said to the Mrs yesterday “I can’t believe I’m going to say this but thank god we’ve got Boris”
He has actually lost it, you're quite right. By that I mean if you look at old footage of him from 20 or 30 years ago, he was undoubtedly strange but he could hold a consistent argument in his head and discuss it properly. Now he seems to speak in 5 second bursts and a lot of what he says actually doesn't make any sense at all. It's not that you disagree with it, it's nonsense. This has led me to agree with the theories online that he is suffering with some sort of age related issue, on top of his already odd views. E.g. here: just a 20 second clip but he is just legitimately making sense; it's like chalk and cheese compared to now. https://www.statnews.com/2017/05/23/donald-trump-speaking-style-interviews/?jwsource=cl I think he's quite likely to be re-elected though, because the people who didn't vote for him last time will be more angry, but I'm not convinced he's done anything to put off his supporters.
I once watched a programme about David Bowie where he'd cut up the lyrics to a song he was working on, and he was shuffling them around. Listening to Trump, I get the feeling his speeches are written like that. But without the genius element, obviously.
The bloke is truly gobsmackingly stupid. His actions and statements have clearly made things much worse than they might have been in the US and now he's threatening to withdraw funding from The World Health Organisation who he blames for the pandemic. You couldn't make it up.
The only thing that has surprised me about him is that he hasn't waged war yet. Was quite shocked with the progress he made at one point with North Korea. If he were to fall out with another nation that is unstable then we are in big trouble. He is a complete liability and the sooner he is out of power the better.
