James Beattie to have a one week trial at the club.

Lee Williamson to sign from Sheffield Utd.

Yes it's one of those, "my mate at the pub knows someone at the club" type rumours ... Just wondered if anyone had heard the same?

Also said, not interested in Chris o Grady.

We wouldn't be able to afford Beattie. Would like Williamson, but just can't see it. Just read in the mirror we're lining up £350k for O'Grady.

Well, it's not the best source tbh... So will see what happens. Also said Stephen Quinn off to Ipswich, and owls to sign mattock.

I've heard the Lee Williamson rumour

But not The James Beattie one. I'd be surprised if we pay much out in transfer fees this Summer, if any at all.
Which, knowing my lack of reliable insider information, probably means we'll sign O'Grady on Monday!!:D

My other half doesn't rate O Grady much, so I won't be too pleased if we throw £350,000 in the Owls direction.

Can't see the beattie thing tbh, but I also think he may struggle to find a club. Didn't do much for Blades second time around.

It took him six months to get fit. Only to get sent off once he got his chance. Get him fit and keep him fit we. Could be onto a winner

Unless his wage demands have got much smaller in the last few years, I just can't see us being able to afford him. He was on £45k p/w the first time around at the Blunts, I know his chances are much more limited these days, but I still can't see him being within our reach, think he'll go to a league 1 club with a bit more financial power than us. Bournmouth have splashed out a bit, someone like them.

I would have both these. I do not think that Beattie is now in the 'top earner' category and, if we got him for the same money Gray was on, that would be a good deal. He needs to prove fitness, however, but is, when fit and motivated, a proven goalscorer. I have always liked Lee Williamson as a mobile, nifty and hard-working midfielder, who is good at set pieces. Would he be instead of Norwood, or in addition? He has also got a goal in him when needed. I would have moved him up as striker alongside Porter in the injury crisis in the play-offs.

Both good, but we would need to lay down the challenge to Beattie and he would only come is we could get him for Gray's wages.

Sheff U fans I work with did nothing but moan about Quinn while in the championship, said he had found his level in league 1.

I would take both Williamson and Beattie. Doubt Beattie was on a big wage last season at United and he wasn't exactly in huge demand either.

I don't really know much about that Williamson so i can't really comment.

I'd have Beattie, could do well here if he was able to stay fit. If we could get him on moderate wages i think it could be a winner. Beattie and Etuhu could be quite good!

Have any of them been inside? Or played at Rochdale?

I'm actually beginning to warm to the idea

Of us possibly bringing in Chris O'Grady. If we sign him, apparently it'd immediately annoy so many of our fans for various reason. Therefore, he'd instantly become my favourite player before he'd even pulled on the shirt!!:D

Williamson is a decent player. Just the type we've been crying out for since Drinkwater went.

I watch a fair bit of football but not supported a team who Williamson has played for. Always wonder how folk rate players they have very rarely seen.

    Fair enough, mate

I'm not feeling as down about the team as I was a few weeks ago. Perhaps it's a sign of my lack of maturity, not being a football expert, or simply me being a wally. I'm certainly not going to get worked up about it all. There's far more serious issues than football for that.
