Humberside Police and Grimsby Town football club - will not be allowing people identified as "risk" groups of supporters into Glanford Park. These people have been identified by both football clubs and even if they have a ticket, they will not be allowed in. Both S****horpe United and Grimsby Town have written to these "risk" supporters to advise them not to attend. On the back of this people who have bought tickets are warned against passing their tickets on to people who have not been able to obtain one.

How can they ban supporters from a match if they are not on a current football banning order.

If they were so badly behaved why are they not already banned.

Is this not like banning someone from driving because the police think there is a risk they may drink and drive

If they'd behaved themselves on previous occasions there wouldn't be a problem.

if they add evidence to say they had misbehaved they'd be on baning orders, anyone whos had there details taken in the past will be on this risk list

Yes but there not a registered hooligan are they.

If they were so badly behaved why are they allowed to go to any other match .

Just because its a derby match the police can choose which matches they go to.

If it was accrington stanley they were playing they wouldnt be a problem

Do you know you can get a banning order by association . you dont even need to commit an offence.

Civil banning order - Not even a criminal offence

    It wouldn't mate

They Instruct banned people to sign on during football matches

But would they get registered sex offenders to sign at 3:30pm when schools finish no they wouldn't because that would be against human rights

You only have to look how football fans are treated in general to be unsuprised by this. The amount of 'bubble' trips for away fans is ridiculous

I never get it. I go to away matches all the time. I come and go as I please, and we always go in whatever pub we want. Never been hassled once. Funnily enough, the groups of chavs around me, with CP coats on, holding their arms above their heads and chanting...don't.

I understand your point but doesn't right that police can tell supporters not to attend certain matches.

If they such a risk why are they not banned and able to attend any other match apart from s****horpe

If they were banned fair point but there not .

It's a local derby, always more tension and risk of trouble. It's as simple as that. The fact these people are known to the police suggest they are part of the reason for the heightened tension. There should be no need for police to be involved at all, but sadly there is.

Sign of the times in football. Some people would have you believe that being a football fan and going to a match in a group of mates makes you worse than scum. Compare the scrutiny football fans are put under with other sections of our society and it's perverse. I know most on here will disagree with me but I personally think football fans are treated appallingly. This view is from first hand experiences as aswell as anecdotal evidence. But as with a lot of things in today's world, people's opinions on groups/cultures/actions tend to be shaped by sensationalistic, biased and inaccurate reporting and media-driven thought rather than a proper examination of fact.

You're not really telling the whole story here though are you. This is the replay. The first game was marred with a lot of trouble before, during and after the match, hence the police are getting twitchy. The replay is coming round before the police have managed to identify all the culprits from the first game.
