    Wonder why she made up the story? All the police hours wasted. Could have caused more problems with people taking things into their own hand.
    Do you think there will be a march in town now by SYC/EDL to say "Sorry, false alarm."

    It is a troubling situation any way you look at it. Hopefully it wasn't a deliberate attempt to stir racial tensions, but any other explanations are no less disheartening. Hope the girl can get whatever support that can help her, and that this wasn't a cry for help relating to other problems she is too frightened to report.

    I agree that there won't be the social media fanfare with this news. It will be interesting to see how much WAB/the Chronicle report this. They have a duty to shout it from the rooftops in my opinion.

    I wonder how many times a girl has actually lied about this sort of thing? She should get punished the same way a man would get punished if he had raped her not give her support

    We've no idea why she made the allegations. It could be a cry for help based on other things going on in her life, we just don't know. That's why I think she needs help.

    string em all up i say

    in fact....lets form a posse....don't quite know who we are looking for or what has happened but string em up is the only way.

    No, it means there's no evidence - two different things.

    It's just a really sad story - the hate it's brought to the surface, the impact it'll no doubt have had on the girl etc. Awful.

    Actually the report says it didn't happen. That means she lied, therefore i would lock her up rather than offer her help. (only for a few weeks to teach her a leason mind)

    And you know that she is of sound mind mentally, do you? There are many reasons why a child would falsely make this type of allegation and they're not all simply because the child was lying. I am pretty sure that more medically qualified people than the newly formed lynch mob on here will be involved and will give her the support she needs. If she has lied to stir things up or to cover up anything else, then she will be reprimanded (although be prepared to be disappointed if you want her "locking up"), but don't jump to conclusions based on the limited information that the police have released. It's a far more complex situation than that.
