""We were chasing shadows early on, but we changed the system and then looked more threatening going forward."

Now then why cant Barnsley ever change their system and it work ????

Plan A is a good one till the opponents work it out, then we have to have a back up plan B, which is where we are struggling a bit. Hopefully it wont cost us too much.

To be fair to Hill though had it not been for an inept ref and poor finishing we'd have taken something from the game and Colin's plans would have been academic.

To be fair ? Life is not fair , its about making the best of a bad job. Hill still, after a season and a quarter , cannot change his game plan. Even if we are a goal down in the last 5 mins, we still play the ball back and sideways, sometimes we have to move the ball forwards faster, not lump it and chase, but go forwards not sideways get the ball to the strikers quicker, who knows we might even come from behind and get a win !!!!!
Other managers see whats going wrong and change things around, why not Hill?
Oh I forgot every other manager is a dinosaur and his aunty has not got any balls !!!

Did you go mate? Don't listen to Colin's version of events, we were better all the way through.

If we played the same as leeds today, you'd still be moaning though, because his system change never worked, they had two shots on target and one was a pen.

I can see what your saying and yes at times we do struggle to overturn a defencive team but yesterday looking at the missed chances we beat ourselves if this type of football eventually gets Hill the chop then its a sad day for Barnsley and football.

Why the **** would you alter the tactics in a game your dominating?

Keith's tactics, gameplan, method, whatever you want to call it, played Leeds off the park, created at least three chances for mellis and harewood that should have been scored and several more that could have been too, restricted the opposition to the point where they had only two shots on target, at home, in the whole game. One of which a wrongly awarded penalty.

I don't think hill is faultless as a manager but it baffles me when he gets criticised after games like yesterday, a game where in my opinion the way he set the team up and asked them to play worked perfectly and should have been enough to win the game.

You can't blame him for mellis pulling his chance wide, or harewood missing from a yard out, or a referee giving a penalty that the other 25000 people present could see was ridiculous.

When the team play poorly and look weak, ie Brighton, Peterborough, yes the manager can be questioned.

But when they play well - but individuals missing gilt edged chances and a poor decision from an official cost you a result - I fail to see how the manager can be blamed.

Why change. We missed chances, Look at the stats

Leeds - 1 shot on target (from which they scored) - 6 off target
Barnsley - 4 shots on target - 12 off target

OK we stay as we are and lose 99% of our away games. Fair enough if that is what you want, but I do not want to keep losing games when we go behind , I would like to see us winning more than 1 a bloody season away from home.
Maybe I am wanting too much , in that I want more than just lots of possession, maybe a win every 5/6 games away ?

If we start to take our chances playing the way we are away we'll win more than 1 i'm sure of that!

But your making an assumption that we will create more chances by being direct which I would argue isn't necessarily the case, plus you would have less of the possession giving the opposition more opportunities to score.

I don't think creating chances is the problem this season. We've had more than enough chances to win the games I've seen.

I'd much rather see us play from the back then lump the ball about in the air and play like the scum did yesterday. Our downfall isn't how we play, it's how we finish off the chances.

    But didn't we against Ipswich?

It wasn't working in the first half, so we changed it in the second.

What I meant is that if we continue to play like we did yesterday and against Blackburn we will take points from games and our away record will improve. Colin talks a right load of crap and was watching a different game to everybody else yesterday.

I think we can pick up more points away from 't Well as we have more freedom to play our passing game. At home we get stifled by teams knowing we will pass from the back and who just flood the halfway line with 10 players and rely on us getting frustrated at lack of penetration, and then hit us on the break. We need someone who can score and Deadwood is not the answer(I do hope he proves me wrong!!)
