he decides wright phillips deserves a game but can't decide who to drop in the middle of the park. Will it be either Lampard or Gerrard who are both in blistering form or will it be mr publicity Beckham who has lost the ability to beat a man on the wing so has moved inside for an easier time despite the fact he can't tackle for toffee.

Nope, can't make a decision so picks all 3 sacrifices the balance of the team nullifies Rooney by sticking him out wide left.

Stand up and be a man mr erickson and pick a 4-4-2 team using the best players. If Beckhams not in form why play him?? You don't hesitate to drop the likes of defoe or cole so what makes him so special? You have got so close to having a very good team and now you are chucking it away.

"Beckham who has lost the ability to beat a man"

When did Beckham ever have the ability to beat a man?

When Man Utd gave him the number 24 shirt

Once he was handed the number 10 shirt he lost the ability to beat a man!

"blistering form" apart from tonights and saturdays games of course.

Gerrard has had a superb start for Liverpool and Lampard is racking up the points in my fantasy football team and more to the point both are far better middle of the park players than Beckham will ever be. Both can can get up and down the pitch, put in a tackle, use the ball well and like to score goals. Beckham can probably manage 2.1/2 of those catergories.

Unless he was still living in last season.

    he's never beaten players...

With his crossing ability he's never had to. No idea what he does in the middle of the park tho. I guess he's on for his over rated free kicks.

its a pity we can't wheel him on for free kicks like they do in american football.

He did in his early days

    If you remember.

When him, Scholes, and G Neville were first introduced to first team football at Man Utd, Beckham was taking players on, beating them, getting balls into the box, scoring goals, scoring wonder goals, playing right, left, centre.

    Then he got famous...

    Not a patch on Hargreaves

can still picture the stunned looks around the pub when we realised that Hargreaves was coming on for Lampard - when we were a goal down. Even after a season's practice of Paul Harts Bizarre substitutions that came as a shock

    Rubbish

He's never been that type of player. He's wasn't handed a number 10 shirt either was he? Surely you mean 7?

I'm sure he did exactly the same when we were 1-0 down to Brazil.

    I think you will find...

He was number 24 for Manchester United, then recieved number 10, as I'm sure Cantona had number 7 at that stage...if not then I dunno who had it. But he was given number 10 before number 7.

    Nooo!

I just remember the days when Beckham, Scholes and Neville came through, because they were awesome! Even Neville!
