Well done Simon Davey. You have done a superb job. Hopefully you will still be the manager of BFC this time next year!
Really? Are you serious? If he stays expect us to be hanging in the balance next season again then. Still - at least you think it's fabulous.
You are not allowed to say that on here. This board should be renamed "The Anti-Davey Faction Ranters Board".
I'm neither in the 'IN or OUT' camp.. I just want to see the best for the club. If that's with SD fine other wise I'd like to see a realistic alternative. Mine would be Ince, but I'm quite happy to give SD the start of next season.
RE: if he goes where do you expect us to be next year ? nt About7-8 places higher in this league. That will do for starters.
RE: if he goes where do you expect us to be next year ? nt If we look for a manager now - as a championship side with a reasonable squad, we might, just might, get a decent manager. If we wait until we let Davey relegate us next season, we'll be either stuck with him turning us into a midtable division three side OR we'll get to choose between nobody and his best mate. For some reason people have lost their memories - let go of their common sense. All this talk of 'bad luck' - 'we've been unlucky this season' - it's rubbish. We took a blow when Humey got injured - but all these late goals we have been conceding are not 'bad luck', it's because we lined up wrong and made the wrong tactical decisions at key times. We've seen one bizarre selection after the next - and an ignorant stubborn refusal to even so much as admit that it hasn't gone to plan. We've won four games since the new year not because (tug of the forelock) 'we're a small club an' will mek do' - it's because we've had an inept manager at the helm. He hasn't been squeezing results out of abject players - if he had, I wouldn't have an issue with him. He's actually had a much, much better team at his disposal than the one that got relegated against Norwich - but somehow he has kept them confused and off balance with his repeated strange formations and selections. JCR at sweeper anyone? Anyone at all? Someone explain that to me! If we get rid of Davey and opened the opportunity to a decent, seasoned professional who can use the squad to it's strengths - wow, we might not have to fight a relegation battle next season. Remember - the six point gap between us and the lower leagues didn't exist until Norwich bottled it today. Our lads did well to get the win, but I'm sorry, it really could have been so different for us today. We can't afford to run it that close again next year.
I believe that Davey, is too pre-occupied with trying to negate the opposition If we were to take a more pro-active look at the matches , we could easily have won a fair few more. It cannot be just bad luck that all the Strikers he signs turn out to be crap, something is going wrong behind the scenes during training. To play the only striker we have that has looked like he can score , out on the wing(yes I kinow he has played there before for other clubs, but he has always stated he does not like it). Just a couple of reasons why I think another manager would be better. Simon Davey has got it correct in about 25% of the matches he was in charge for, if anyone in another job only got it right so few time he would be out of the door. But what the hell does it matter what I think, he will be in charge for as long as he wants, cos BFC know that the fans will always support the team so they can do what they like and fans will still turn up.
