You were knackered, one or two off form, but you kept going, and you got 3 points again, and we're in 4th place. The other team wanted to win as well and played well and put you under pressure, which is them just doing their job. Well done again Heinz you made a number of good saves even though you let a soft one in. Well done Kozluk best game you've had for us you won every header going. Well done Stan and Macken you held it up well and never stopped trying even when you were both absolutely shagged. Well done Dennis and Lewin at the back, won lots of headers and challenges under pressure. Far cry from last season even though you weren't at your best you got the points - that's the difference.
I know, I know Replying to my own post, but I tried to post something positive on a night when, if you just read the posts and ignored any mention of goals, result etc, you would have thought we had lost convincingly. Yes we played bad but for heaven's sake we got 3 points and we are 4th.
Simple game, simple facts Two competative games in 53 hours One clean sheet. Three goals, two from a striker. (headed from good crosses) 6 points 4th in 2nd tier football On a stick, with bells on.
What's this? Common sense? A realistic summary of the situation? An acceptation that if you run your b**lls off on Saturday you will still be knackered on Monday? Nah, can't be, must be my imagination. Well Done Lads!
I've clearly had little to drink On the other hand I have seldom felt so deflated having won a game but having said that its the sort of game we would usually lose. Get in. Football is ****, especially if you expect total football every time you turn up at oakwell.
noted the +ve theme, heres what I said earlier never mind the performance, never mind that it looked as though Blackpool had twelve men on and not ten, never mind that the neutrals will say that the better team didnt win... this was the second saturday/monday quick turnaround in two weeks and we have come out of it 6 points up, goes down as a 2:1 win our lads were totally wasted so to hang under some good pressure was for me, very creditable maybe SKY will give us a game where we can show how we can play (I feel a conspiracy theory developing) but for now, what a result
The other bonus is... ...other teams will look at our two televised games and see nothing to worry about. How can they prepare to counteract threats if there appears to be none? If we put in a good performance, they'll be caught cold.

Re: the other bonus is... playing poorly on TV is a good, if high risk strategy maybe there is more to our manager than meets the eye you have to be really good to be deliberately bad
