Better team for much of the gameL

Lucky for England the linesman got it wrong when Barry was put through on goal and even luckier when Ernshaw missed a sitter even Odejayi would have tucked away

England couldnt get the ball for most of the second half

Lucky to get all 3 points imo

    Good job Earnshaw is crap

You've got to score those type of chances at international level. You should really score them in Sunday League football.

I'll always support England and always watch the games but they haven't been much fun of late. We're getting the results but the performances are pretty poor. We were lucky tonight.

Thought Bale tried to do too much on his own second half and wasted a few good attacking positions but they created a few good chances but luckily for England they didn`t take them.

They couldn't beat a England team that played poor.

What's that say about Welsh football?

I am totally baffled how the international rankiings work. Apparently we went up 2 places to 4th last month without playing a game. How on earth can anyone consider us to be the 4th best team in the world - bonkers. Yes, we can win a few qualifiers but everyone knows that we won't be at the races when it gets serious. And watching England is so boring - I rather be painting the fence - honestly. Can't be bothered with it at all.

meanwhile - Wales apparently rank below San Marino and Libya - what a crock of ****.

I reckon it says that Wales are a smaller Country with a smaller population and England were bloody lucky that they got a win!!!

Aye twer a bad miss one he`ll never forget.

Our football seems slow and painful to watch with any individual flair being restricted by the coaches and the system.

Ah well he qualifies us even if he doesn`t take us much further.

It says that England are ranked a lot higher than Wales but tonight it was hard to see the gulf in the rankings.

Should I be slagging England off?

Exactly any team with any idea would have beaten England tonight, regardless of population

Absolutely. Football has fine margins at international level and at that level there is no excuse for missing a chance like that. In fact there isn't really any excuse at any level for that miss.

Wales played as well as we can, particularly as we had important players missing. Not an excuse, but with our limited resources when we lose our "better" players it makes a massive difference to us. Instead of picking players with Premiership experience, we have to revert to the Championship or lower. Christ, we had Steve Evans from Wrexham playing at center half last year - straight from the Conference.

And tbh, I thought England played as well as they normally do. There is always post-match reaction saying they didn't play well, underperformed, certain individuals should have done better etc - but other than the 5-1 win in Germany, I can't remember a particularly good performance.

Me & my mates have always said that Earnie needs 3 chances to score 1 - but in fairness, I can't remember seeing him miss one like that. A shocker.

I found myself disappointed when he missed that sitter. Must have been here too long and am going native.

Maybe if you'd had Bellamy playing you'd have done us

Bale was obviously the danger man so we had two or three men on him most of the time. I think England did a good job of nullifying him. But we wouldn't have been able to do that had Bellamy been on the opposite side of the pitch also causing problems.

Aye they played very well. I can see them being a lot closer to qualifying for the WC. They are slowly getting a team together who are PL players, shame for them that Bellamy isn't a few years younger.
