Between Banks and Parker? Only name I can come up with is Gordon Boyd, but I remember him having shorter hair? It's the season before I started watching regularly.
Not the answer to your question but the first tab. he kept it all inside his head, what he saw he left unsaid?
I have the same problem and can't name him for sure. I don't think it is Flavell, nor Boyd and the only other name I can come up with who played in that season is Paul Longden. There was Jimmy Mann as well, but i don't think that's him either. I will guess Paul Longden, but i haven't a clue, because he only played four games that season and I did not see any of them.
Cheers. Honestly never heard of him. Did he play after that season?[/QUOTE] His last game for Barnsley was in the 7-0 defeat at Reading the previous season, December 1979. He had a major falling out with Allan Clarke and never played in our first team again, even when Norman Hunter took over.
Norm R - What shall I wear for team photo like? Norm H -Wear thi butcher's smock, tha looks grand in that Norm R - Good idea, it is me favourite

Beat me to it. He looks like they’ve pulled him from an ice cream van just before the photo was taken.
Beat me to it with Joe Joyce, forgot that Neil Cooper played right back, did he join us from Aberdeen ?
Correct Big Lill This photo always makes me A. Smile at the memories of watching such a great team. B. Giggle at the lack of letters for the printing of TAITS.....Mike Lester has IAITS, Winnie TaITS, Banksy just TA then rest hidden but you can tell there are no letters, Big Mick probably has no TS....this club never changes
Apparently Bobby Flavell took part in twenty five games for us in season 1979-80 and had a single game for Dundee United in Season 1983/84. Sadly died at the age of thirty nine in 1996. http://www.neilbrown.newcastlefans.com/player/bobbyflavell.html
