Aye 3 months definitely enough time to say yet another manager is a failure. Would we have less patience for another manager err no I think most reasonable people give someone more than 3 months in the job before whinging. Surely the only agenda is to support our club. Yes there reaches a point where a manager may look like he has exhausted all his abilities and is still failing such as Hill, Davey or indeed Flitcroft but that's not less than 20 games in. Some people all they seem to do is enjoy moaning about managers for Fcuks sake Even Fergie would struggle to turn big Jean into a Championship player. Or turn a demoralised squad of players round. We are getting relegated because of two main factors the financing of football leading to several years of very poor recruitment and an inexperienced manager recruited badly in the summer. Of course we supported him and didn't condemn players we had never seen play for us why would we?
I thought Micky Mellon performed very well in his short time as manager. I would have been happy enough for him to take the job permanently although I don't deny my preference was Wilson. I was certainly pleased we kept him on in a coaching roll. All this is documented in my post list. And I don't blame him for what is happening currently. I certainly questioned some of the players he kept and some of those he let go, yes. Without question. I made a big deal about keeping McNulty and dispensing with Foster for example. No. When Flicker was here I supported him. I thought he did a fantastic job to do what he did this time last year and said so repeatedly. Now he's the manager of Bury so I no longer feel the need to big him up. Wilson is the manager of the team I support, so my support has turned to him. I'm posting about our manager, not the board. I've said relatively little about the above. No. I've read one. I thought it was good, I thought it fit our situation very well. I'm not trying trying to make out Leigh Curtis is some brilliant journalist, I'm merely suggesting the situation we find ourselves is universal amongst football teams. I'm not pushing an agenda, I'm supporting a Barnsley manager. Your agenda, however, appears to be to make out I'm doing something wrong for doing that.
Thats eerily similar to our situation Jay. It also boils down as to whether Danny wants to stay on also should we go down.
Simply because they do not agree that Wilson is the right man for the job? "Justify supporting the manager"? Doesn't stop you supporting the team. Justifying the manager is a matter of your opinion. That's all. To suggest that you are not worth tuppence simply because you do not agree with the choice of manager is quite simply pathetic. If you cannot discern the difference between a team and a manager then there is no point discussing owt further.
No, what you're doing is pathetic. You may not have agreed with the choice of manager, that's entirely reasonable, but what you do once he's installed is give him your support and you're failing, miserably. And we're not having a discussion, I'm arguing my points and you're using words like propaganda, agenda and 'Putin' in an attempt to belittle my support for the Barnsley manager. So you're damn right, there's no point in discussing this further. And I overvalued you at tuppence.
