I'd have no issue with them being in the Conference. I'm saying not to kill the club. Pretty much anything else is fine.
Define playing fair? We're surviving on cash inputs from the owners. Not to the extent of certain other clubs but we're certainly not sustainable as a business as things stand.
Fair as in pay wages on time. Fair as in don't swap owners and still have the same problems. They are as bad as Bury who got what they deserved. Have them start again and promote a side that plays by the rules to replace them.
Amen! Honestly don't understand how any genuine football fan could want someone else's club to go under. Baffling.
Perinial rule breakers....should face consequences...otherwise regulation becomes a farce (we should all do it). Relegation to the conference seems fair to me.
While we’re talking about the rules, don’t we have different rules applied to us this season? Weren’t we allowed one season after relegation but now our wage bill is based on a percentage of our turnover (or whatever the rule is for League One)?
Some of the vitriol on here towards Wigan is embarrassing, they are a working class team from the north just like us,with thousands of genuine supporters, this supposed rivalry between us is total nonsense purpetuated by a noisy minority on both sides. The troubles they are having could easily happen to us in the blink of an eye,I for one hope they sort there problems out
Would have fully agreed you with any other club but their attitude due to the fact that we had the indignity to score a goal that saved us being relegated and them not managing to win their game changed my whole outlook on them. We didn’t deduct them 12 points yet it would appear we did should you listen to their fans. Whilst I won’t say I hope they go out of business I can’t ever feel sorry for them either.
What I find amazing in that statement is that a 21 year old is one of the interested parties, but failed to gain EFL approval to buy Morecambe earlier this year. Knowing the EFL and Wigan, seems like a perfect match
They won't really though Marc. There will just be a phoenix club formed and all their fans can go and support that. It's happened numerous times in football. They'd have to restart right down the pyramid but any real fans won't mind what league they're in as long as they have a club to watch.
It was a castle built on sand first time around. It blows my mind that they’ve gone down exactly the same path after a narrow escape last time around.
I'm not interested if they are a fellow northern working class club or not, that is totally irrelevant. They broke the rules regarding Ffp, and I think we made an issue out of it, which any club in our position would have done. They got punished with relegation, and now its happened again they are still breaking financial rules now, so I've no sympathy for them whatsoever. Or their fans who thought their promotion and our relegation was karma etc, and we deserved it apparently for some odd reason. Bad luck to em!.
I don’t think we even made an issue of it. We just wanted to be part of the hearings to ensure our interest was being protected as would any club in the same predicament.
Well doesn't that make their bad attitude towards us even more pathetic, if our involvement was as little as that. I've even seen other neutral clubs fans try to explain it to them, that it was their own fault that they were relegated etc, and certainly not our clubs fault!.
