I live in the Portsmouth area and there seems to be truth to it according to some down here but they want to get a replacement in first before agreeing the deal....
Would be down to the staff to determine who was the better pick to start. But in that scenario there would be 2 strikers Victor and new player both signed on contracts to this club and both wanting to be here and start, so it would be a case like we had at the start of this season where he was deemed as back up to the others. Whereas in the other scenario there was Victor who is wanting to stay here and be a first team player and one in Bradders who had agreed a deal to move elsewhere and still starting ahead of our own player.
I would say Victor knows the score and that his cameo appearances are his time to push for a starting place, knowing full well Bradders could leave and a replacement sought that would go straight into the side.
It’s taking Portsmouth sometime to get a replacement in for their reserve striker probably about 3 months to date since Coventry were after him. Not exactly experienced his he.
Liddell had a good half a season coming off the bench and was often back on it. Upfront is an unforgiving position with no experience. It’s my opinion Victor for all his potential would benefit from a similar approach.
Victor’s in the same position a lot of young players are, he needs to continue to impress off the bench & if we get an injury or a Cup game he’s got to perform in order to break into the league side as a regular starter. By all accounts he didn’t perform well at Blackpool but there’ll be other chances. I’m sure the lads just happy to be involved with the first team & bagging himself a couple of goals for the time being
It's reported in the Sun today that bradders is of to Millwall for a record transfer fee of one million pounds with a two hundred and fifty thousand pound add on if they get promoted to premier league
We might as well start adding clauses of '£10m if we win the champions league' if this is the sort of thing flies..
