Me and the boys at work have come up with the following 'worst' Barnsley team from what we can remember. Can anyone think of any other contenders that might squeeze in. We've plumped for a 3 pronged attack.....I reckon they'd have trouble beating Worsborough Bridge!

    Ilic

    Regan Chettle Monk Gibbs

    Rocastle Wroe Mattis

    Turner Onibuji Regis

Sorry, I can only make one comment.

well as you can see he's put the worst team from living memory.

personally i would have gone for Gary Jones as the linchpin in that team and maybe even squeezed nicky eaden into the defence.

other than that there aint really beenmany worse players gracing the turf at oakwell.

We've had plenty of centre halves worse than Chettle

And Monk was OK when played in that position rather than midfield.

Jim Hinch wasn't that bad was he?

Deon Burton makes my starting line up playing up front with Carl Airey.

    Don Souter

Judgement of ball over the top of him was comical. Mick Clark was class though. Fast in a straight line stylee. Whatever happened to him? Did he go abroad?

Mick Clarke and Stuart Rimmer were decent along with Don Souter. Why didnt Mitch Ward make the team?

    In goal.

    What a joke he was!

Played in the reserves once...and last.

Shouldn't the goalkeeper be that Copley lad who played his one and only game against Stockport in early 1979 when we went 4-1 up, but ended up drawing 4 all?

    Eaden!!! Utter tripe

That's one of the most ridiculous things I've seen posted on here.

He was excellent until the fans got on his back and killed his confidence. Played frequently in a Premiership promotion winning Wigan team, and a play-off Birmingham team after leaving us.

Shows how much of a pillock the Barnsley fans who were barracking are.

Eaden certainly knew how to whip a ball in, although.....

he hardly ever bet a man.
