Let me begin by saying I think that Mr Daveys time is up and have thought so since last season, however I want to take issue with fans who as soon as we went a goal behind yesterday decided that they should get on the teams and managers back. I travel the length of this country supporting the Reds and at times despair with our support. Honest opinion there was little to chose between the 2 teams yesterday and if Humes miss had gone in we would have got a point at least. Why for 90 mins can we not get behind the team 100% why do we insist on booing the players during the game. Why so we have to resort to racist chanting! Yesterday there was some great humour in the stands and good banter in the ground between the 2 sets of fans but FFS "a town full of pakis" chant makes tarn supporters look like a bunch of racist nedendertals! All I ask is during the game support our team we could make a difference. Davey out!
They are not even"Pakis" as they are called It is a city with the highest concentration of INDIAN migrants in Britain.
Ridiculous mate. It is becoming a talking point after every match. Instead of concentrating on the performances.
The one thing that embarrassed me far more than the performance. How other supporters must shake their heads in abject disbelief. If we are struggling already with image stereotypes, what a wonderful way of debunking those myths - 60-70% of our travelling support chanting rubbish like that, with real enthusiasm too. Really helps. Just made me ashamed - totally.
V.M I've sat and given a lot of thought about Davey even to the point of trying to corrolate his status and position with an industrial peer . I have to admit to myself however, because of my biased dislike for the man, that under the present circumstance Davey should have gone sometime ago. would have received some help/ guidance in the areas which are the cause of OUR/HIS/B.F.C problems. It doesn't appear anything has been done to eleviate the difficulties. This problem therefore lies at the feet, IMO, of Patrick Cryne. He appears to be allowing the predicament to fester and as such he reinforces the inter-related conflict of fans and the inadequecies of an inept manager. I understand from listening to various S.T. holders they are now refusing to attend again and have withdrawn their support until this man is removed. I don't know if, morally, they are right. What I do understand however is the amount of frustration which is eminating while he is in charge and this frustration is leading to covert agression between the faithful fans. This board is a prime example of that agression and from what I hear, it transfered to almost physical altercations at Leicester. Patrick Cryne has a lot to answer for if this situation goes tit's up big style. From a personal perspective I too am increasingly running out of the preverbal steam and will withdraw my support if the situation is allowed to continue without any action from the owner. For goodness sake P.C. do/say something to help extinguish all of this bad blood.
Well constructed post, sir. In my opinion, Mr Cryne is presiding over a house divided with regards to Barnsley Football Club. No amount of 'spin doctoring' will hide it and until it is resolved, there will continue to be division and discourse. Whether fans should back the manager or not is a somewhat mute point, the damage has already been done. Mr Davey has alienated a large portion of the fan base, which our club can ill afford to do, during his stewardship and the rift will not be healed. We are a provincial town with a finite number of potential followers. If we're to progress as a club, we aren't in a position to say to people voicing concern at what is happening at BFC "Stay away from Oakwell. We don't want you. We don't need you". This club needs as much local support as it can possibly muster. The start to the new season cannot be classed as a passing phase, as it is a simple continuation (at best) to what has gone before. What worries me is that there is now an apparent upturn in disgruntled voices heading in Mr Cryne's direction. I would hate to think that his legacy could be tarnished, but it is certainly a possibility were the status quo to remain.
RE: Well constructed post, sir. well said kev, never known a barnsley manager cause this much divided loyaltys. people have stopped following the reds this season because of davey, time for at change of manager and backroom staff ie kidd and o'hanlon.
RE: Well constructed post, sir. It saddens me, Andy, to see and hear Barnsley fans at each other's throats over this. We all love our club with a passion, whether we like Mr Davey or not. However, I can only see the situation worsening.
i cant see how its racist mi sen its like someone singing your just a town full of Brits down oakwell we are a town and it is full of British
RE: Well constructed post, sir. plenty of arguing yesterday at game, but we've got our fair share of numpty's following barnsley
Cryne has made a decision to back the person he appointed as manager to the hilt and regardless of whether we the fans agree with this support we should be showing cryne a measure of respect for making a tough decision rather than the abuse slowly gathering momentum in his direction. Also, some so called fans do need to take a reality check and regain the fact they support the club through thick and thin, not abandoning the club because they have a severe dislike of the manager. The amount of abuse Davey has recived is nothing short of a disgrace either, it appears some people have personal vendetta's against the man. Parkin, *******man and Bodges never got anything like what Davey has to endure and they were all equally inept in the job.
Then let the status quo remain What fans should or shouldn't be doing is conjecture. What fans ARE doing isn't. Just my opinion, mate.
yeah, so all the polish, indian people, etc.... that live in tarn are british are they?????????? (doh) (doh) (doh) (doh) (doh) (doh)
Perhaps they shouldn't be allowed an opinion And simply hand over their money and accept what's offered to them without a word of complaint. I don't think that's going to happen.
