After a number of bad away days organisation wise in recent times, I would just like to praise Charlton & Kent police for their excellent organisation yesterday. Pre Match - The Antigallican not the nicest of pubs but the warm welcome from everyone in there made up for the surroundings. We were greeted by the bouncer who smiled and opened the door, friendly bar staff and good banter with charlton fans. Ehat more do you need prematch! Around the ground loads of old bill but the low key approach taken by them with lots of humour and good banter worked well to create a good atmosphere. Inside the ground no officious stewarding just guys doing their jobs with a smile. Saw one Reds fan get thrown out he deserved it, you can't stand gesticulating at the home supporters by yourself and when asked to move away if you don't then you deserve to get kicked out. After the game, once more a good visable low key approach by the old bill. Thank you for making it a great day out.
Agree with you all the way. The police at the front entrance were most polite before going in the pub and the bouncer upon leaving was chatty. The home fans acted in a grown up way and there wasn't any sign of bother on the way to the ground. Infact we walked the long way around and walked down a ally full of home fans that lead to the opposite side of the ground to what we had to be at
think you will find charlton is now part of greater london so the police would have been the tory partys own met (blues on parade) force.
Speak for yourself mate Wasn't much fun been followed round the ground for 15 minutes by 3 or 4 of Greater Londons finest as they flicked through a book of photo-fits!!! But all in all an excellent afternoon out, well organised. We definately left the pub at the right time after the game
