batters not scoring enough runs and no real back up to sidebottom has been the major let down this year... lyth/mcgrath/rashid/shazad have all been a let down and not having bresnan for most of the season has not helped hopefully someone can get hold of rashid and sort his bowling out soon, with root,ballance,bairstow and gale we have a top order that should be fine next year with the addition of an opener and someone to replace mcgrath who seems to be past it we should be ok, the bowling line up worries me as none of the back up seamers ( OHD, patterson, ashraf or wardlaw ) have really put there hands up at any time and rich pyrah has often been our best bowler behind sidebottom. getting bowled out for less than 150 and losing at home v notts and losing both roses matches by 20 odd runs ultimatly has been the difference.
Good, in the end there were too many times we couldn't ball a side out and after scoring good runs losing games.
Agree about Mcgrath cant bowl now either A bit hasty in getting rid of Steve Kirby a few years ago bowling coach needed,
