    Steele

    Hassell. Foster. McNulty. Goldbourne

    Perkins. Dawson

    Mellis

    O'brian. Harewood. Cycha

A few give or takes but that's my 1st team sheet if everyone is fit.

Maybe today, Cycha for Mellis with RNL on the left

You said strongest line up , then put McNulty in there and left Stones out ! Any particular reason you think that Stones is worse than McNulty?

    Perkins Dawson
    Mellis
    O'Brien Davies Cwyka (sp?)

Could replace Cwyka with RNL. I left out Greening and Tudgay as theyre about to leave, but theyre both good enough to be in there.

McNulty gets too much stick - hes in poor form but last year the opinion of him was pretty high.

Stones and Goldbourne wingbacks, Hassell coming out of the back 2 when coming forward. RNL allowed free reign across the back 4 a la Bullock/Marcell

    Ave' it.

Stones is a right back and dodgy defensively. Going forward great but liable to a loss of concentration. In a few years maybe but not ready at the current time for cb.

Maybe ahead of Hassell at right back. McNulty is there purely for the reason no one else is there apart from Edwards.

I forgot about Cranie but see him more as a full back too.

Yep he's very bad this season.

Do you remember Paul Gibbs under the Steve Parkin regime? He was bad but at least he showed some bottle.

Based on the fact that Steele and Davies are almost definitely on their way out (and Davies is playing like someone on his way out), I'd go for this line up:

    Alnwick

    Stones
    Foster
    Hassell
    Golbourne

    Dawson
    Crainie
    Perkins
    RNL

    Dagnall
    Harewood

Subs - Steele, Kennedy, O'Brien, Greening, Rose

We'd then have Mellis to slip back in (probably only as far as the bench though) once he's fit and I'd like to see Silva and Digby somewhere near the first team at some point. And what has happened to Collins? Davies, McNulty, Etuhu, Done, Wiseman, Cywka and the loanees, along with Harewood and Steele from my line up for today can all leave this month as far as I am concerned, unless Steele and Davies are prepared to sign new contracts.

And if that line up doesn't give the incoming manager some clues as to where we need to strengthen nothing will!

Aye, he got some right stick when he was the BFC Fans whipping boy. Fair do's to him though, he kept plugging away.

RED: McNulty is one of the worst CB i have seen at Barnsley.
Mellis is a liability if he can be bothered can be really good but most of the time hides in a game.
Stones has to be in there Hassell CB with Foster.
HAREWOOD!!!! how can you put Deadwood in the team jesus!

Have you ever seen Stones play at cb? He's not a cb at all. How many times have hid little lapses cost us. Would be very unfair to throw his into a position like that. Rb yes, cb no.

Mellis is a touch of quality there, capable of beating a man and scoring.

Harewood will be a bigger threat than old first touch. Harewood has a good touch, can hold onto the ball. You can tell he's played at a higher level. Just don't know.what some see in Davies which Harewood doesn't have. Harewood puts in a lot more effort in too. Think its because he had played for bigger teams than us all his career some seem to think he should have 20 goals by now.
