RE: Interesting Conspiracy Theory

They can't ask for replays but the 4th Official has a monitor in his dugout thingy to watch TV coverage and to get better views to advise the ref and linesmen etc.

    Confirmed by Lippi...

    From BBC Sport:

Italy coach Marcello Lippi criticsed his French counterpart and defended Materazzi, saying his players did nothing to implicate Zidane and get him sent off.

"Domenech made a gesture that was not very nice, a gesture as if Materazzi had done something but there was nothing. There was no acting. There was nothing going on," the Italian said.

"And you will realise that it was not Materazzi who got the attention of the referee.

"It was the fourth and fifth officials looking at the video at the edge of the pitch.

"We did not do anything. They saw it and they called the attention of the referee.

    Same officiating team as Rooney.

There is no way the Ref or Linesman saw Rooney tread on Carvallho, in fact he had given England a freekick.

The amount of time taken to sort the Rooney thing out meant someone told him he had trodden on Carvallho thus sent him off.

If the Ref or Linesman had seen him last night he would have been off straight away.

At least it was a "Proper" Headbutt none of these puffy attempts - Figo, C. Ronaldo etc.. etc..

    Certainly a way to go!!!
