Would you say are our best 3 strikers? Would you start all 3 together on Saturday and go for it from the first whistle or hold back until the second half which seems the norm of late?
I'd play all 3 and go for the kill, but Val doesn't do it that way. What do I know, in Val we trust. You Reds
I'd start them. Chances will be difficult to come by against Boro, so need our best three forwards on the pitch. Can't afford to throw away chances because of a poor touch from Frieser or Adeboyejo. If we're still struggling after an hour, a choice of the other three can offer a different kind of threat.
2 will start and the other come on before the 60th minute. I’d say it’s pretty clear that they are our best 3 attackers. The other 3 have their own qualities but they aren’t at the level of Woodrow, Dike and Morris. All my opinion of course.
They're our best 3. I actually think Chaplin has more quality than Frieser and Victor but he doesn't seem to be contributing as much when he plays at the minute
I'd like to see the best 3 start, but that doesn't leave us with that great option to change the game from the bench, which Val likes
I think he'll start Woodrow, Dike and Adeboyejo again. Morris will replace Adeboyejo, either at half time if we're losing, or on 55-60 mins. Also expect Adeboyejo's touch to let him down in a good position once or twice.
I honestly don't get the continued we must start with our 3 supposed best strikers call before every game. Val's tactics have worked well all season, there's method in his supposed madness so let's accept he wants to hold at least Morris or Dike back to put on sometime after the first half.
I guess the main points I would say are that Victor looks better coming off the bench, so would prefer him to do that role. The schedule isn't a gruelling this month, so the idea of taking a game away from a team in the last half hour might be more difficult to do. Bringing Morris off the bench worked last week, but that was probably the easiest game of the run in, it didn't work for the last two games before that. We've found goals a bit harder to come by at home recently, as teams change the way they play us. So would like to see what happens if we start Morris with Dike and Woodrow.
I just don't see Adeboyajo or Chaplin as Championship quality players. They try hard but not guys who should be starting regularly at this level.
I agree. It'll be a physical battle all over the pitch so Victor will probably start for that reason.
Yep, wouldn't be surprised to see Halme start in midfield, for the same reason. Though Palmer is probably still more likely
when referring to the strikers it has to be in the order of Woodrow, Morris and Dike. Blackburn had the SAS but we have WMD.
Not this season whilst we can use five subs. Being able to change all of the front three is a massive asset for us when we’re struggling to find a breakthrough. No disrespect to them individually, but bringing on Adeboyejo, Chaplin and Frieser wouldn’t scare many defences at this level. We need one or two from Dike, Morris and Woodrow alongside to compliment them. Next season, when we’re back to three subs I’d say different. I don’t think we’ll have Dike, but if he’s still here next season, then I’d definitely start him alongside Woodrow and Morris.
