Off to Dony races on satdi on a jolly As I don’t know a deal abart the hosses A few suggestions from you in the know would come in handy To give me a run for my money Other than picking one coz it’s the same name as me nannans cat Thanks in anticipation.
The final declarations are not made known until after 11am tomorrow, but I'll be happy to post an opinion after that. May not be much good, mind!
I can vouch for Orsen Kaht, he knows his onions. I can also ask my good wife, she knows nothing about horse racing, but always seems to pick out big winners.
I'll ask our lass who's been attracting money in paddy power in donny Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Okay, the declarations are out. You'll just have to hope this rain doesn't put the meeting under threat now! DONCASTER - SATURDAY It’s raining at the moment [1.50pm Friday] and is set to continue, which may lead to some non-runners and may affect the reliability of the form. 1.50 THE ORGANIST Won the mares’ hurdle on this card this day last year and is entered in the Mares’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. Looks to have been switched back to hurdles after proving not quite as good over fences and can beat fellow Cheltenham entry Ruacana here. 2.25 SAN BENEDETO Has been raised 5 lbs by the handicapper for an 8 length Musselburgh win last time. That was not a particularly strong race, but neither is this so he is the selection. 3.00 HAPPY DIVA Lastbutnotleast will be popular here but his win last time was in a Class 4 race whereas Happy Diva (Cheltenham entered) finished second in a better Grade 2 race. 3.35 THE LAST SAMURI The Last Samuri won this race last year off a handicap mark 12 lbs lower, which would normally be enough to put me off when dealing with seasoned handicappers. But of the other likely winners, there’s not much between Wakanda and Definitly Red, and they in turn would just be a little ahead of Yala Enki, the way I read the form. But last time out The Last Samuri finished in third at Aintree behind a horse called Vieux Lion Rouge, conceding 17 lbs to that horse. That form line puts him in front of the above three to my way of thinking. He has an entry at Cheltenham, but is more likely being primed for another crack at the Grand National, in which he finished second last year. 4.10 THUMB STONE BLUES Tops my ratings for a trainer who has trained 6 winners from 24 runners (25%) in the last fortnight. 4.45 HONEY POUND A tentative selection in a tight race. Not a betting race for me. 5.20 MARIA’S BENEFIT Has comfortably the best form on her run when second over this course and distance in January. Good Luck JS79!
Last Samuri for me too. Dint know Jimmy Cricket is running at Donny, better than walking it to Derby I suppose.
The Organist is now a non-runner. I therefore go with a split stakes bet on 1.50 MARKOV / RED INFANTRY The prices allow for two interests in this race. There may be further non-runners later on the card as the trainers assess the state of the going at Donny.
I hope you followed me with Definitly Red the Brian Ellison Hoss, had a score on it mi sen (don't like giving tips out as a rule)
Good call Upthecolliers - and won by a country mile! Orsen records a small profit: 1.50 RED INFANTRY/MARKOV 3rd 2.25 SAN BENEDETO WON 100/30 3.00 HAPPY DIVA 2nd 3.35 THE LAST SAMURI 2nd 4.10 THUMB STONE BLUES WON 13/8 4.45 HONEY POUND UNPLACED 5.20 MARIA’S BENEFIT NON-RUNNER Stakes: 70 Returns: 79.25 Profit: 9.25 ROI: 13.2%
