Doesn't quite have the charisma of the old format and quite a few regular posters seem conspicuous by their absence. Coincidence? To by honest I dont enjoy half as much as i used to do.
I agree. The old format was unique to us and now we look like thousands of other forums. We've kinda lost our identity and people don't like change. Would be nice if there was a way to bring back the old layout. I don't think it's a coincidence so many posters have been lost. It's still the best place to talk BFC but the new set up makes me less inclined to post.
I was thinking just the same thing last week; the format change seemed to coincide with the BBS dying on its arse. Hardly any traffic, although today's Brexit gubbins has ramped things up a bit. Come on you daft ********.....lets be 'avin yer!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I think it's a coincidence, For me at least it's more to do with the fact that everyone on here has decided that the club is dying and the board are useless. I'm all for healthy discussion, but when it becomes a **** slinging contest and people just want to moan during one of the best seasons in living memory I'm out.
I'm not sure it's a coincidence. It's just likely a feeling that cos it looks different it's not the same bbs. I think it's more likely to do with that we now have a bbs that seems intent on not having debate. It's I'm right and your wrong. If you disagree your a ***** kind of thing. It's also due to this that the more funny and eccentric posters seem to can't be bothered anymore for the same reason or possibly too much PC brigade or whatever. I don't think the change in layout has owt to do with it. It think it's been coming for quite a while. It's a shame. In short. Too many arses
Sadly it coincided with our worst run of results for over a year and all the whingeing, whinnying, defeatist **** wits reappeared and most other members chalked **** this on it. Feel desperately sorry for the admin who stumped up cash for the new format...
To be honest i have lost a lot of interest a lately coupled with more pressing matters in my life right now.
Yer all lovely person*s! Will that do to stir up interest? and I can't post from work on this new BBS, the BBS loss should of course be the nations gain but I can gladly report productivity is still rock bottom.
We have won one home game in 2017 and got knocked out of the cup by a fourth division side. I'm a big fan of the manager but that hardly qualifies as one of the best seasons in living memory. What's the point in posting on a forum if you won't accept that people with a difference of opinion?
He is right though, people hear enough moaning at home without reading it 24/7 on here. If your not moaning about ticket prices it's perspective buyers, or who we have sold in the window or not renewing contracts or how we will perform next season..... infact I'd hate to sit next to you at oakwell I'd go home suicidal.
Perhaps he does his so called moaning on here instead of doing it at the game, best place for it. Nowt changes if everyone keeps schtum.
I'll resist the urge to be pedantic. However, in my opinion this season has not been one of the best in living memory and it's daft to suggest it has, so in my opinion he's wrong. It was shaping up to be a great season but it has fizzled out. That is an indisputable fact. Where the opinion comes into it is if it was justified or avoidable. No idea what relevance moaning at home has to do with a football forum.
I have to agree that the new format is not as accessible as our "unique" old one. I can't be arsed re-reading down threads to find new posts replying to particular strands of a thread. It's how I used the old format and is probably the reason why I have never posted on or hardly read a single other forum. Mind you it's probably had its day. Seem to be much fewer posts each day.
Think there are a number of factors. Main one being that other than Wednesday / Bristol games season is fairly meaningless. Sure Hecky & team will give it 100% to end of season, but degree of uncertainty about next season is huge. By commenting on the situation one is simply stating a fact. Speculation though is fairly pointless, until we have a board & team for next season. Who knows, we might sign some amazing lower league players, who join us to become the next John Stones or Conor Hourihane, or we might sink like a stone & Hecky leave for more chance to build a team at a club that can keep it's best players. It's all speculation as pretty much everything at the club is up in the air. I think when things start to fall into place there will be more to talk about. In terms of layout, I think it's OK & its certainly quicker, although maybe as no one is on it!
I prefer to focus on the positives. You know, maybe like the fact that we're currently in 11th place in the championship.
