Who cares. Likely to impact 0.001% of outcomes. Games would be much more improved by cracking down on time wasting, cynical fouls and standing over free kicks to deny teams advantage through quick restart.

How about using it for twenty second time outs when a controversial decision is made. Give the captain a set number of challenges per match so that we don't get ludicrous penalty decisions being given. How many times have we fallen foul of that over the years? Too many this season.

Offset those time delays by eliminating all other unnecessary delays - feigned injuries (just play on - they jump up), cheating by keepers delaying kicks (just take it off him and give a penalty corner). Many other things to stamp out - then we might get a half decent, well refereed game.

I'd go like Cricket, where the captain has a set number of challenges, but only loses one if it is incorrect. Maybe one per half. The counter resets at half time (an additional one for extra time)

I agree - we could learn a lot from Rugby, Tennis and Cricket. You could give a captain 1 challenge per half for something that is clearly a line decison - in or out of the area is the clearest - or maybe whether there was contact. if the challenge is upheld its kept but if its shown there wasnt a clear error it is lost. Also actually having a time on / time off system for injuries , substitutions , ball lost in the crowd etc would help with time wasting no end

It's too easy, isn't it? The "injury" situation is the one that annoys me most. Would be interesting to see how the game flowed if the physio just ran on at will to treat someone genuinely injured as in rugby. The number of times that players stayed down would be dramatically reduced because we all know that most of the time they are just doing it to get an opponent booked or to waste time. Eliminate it - very simple solution

Just proves its a gimmick for TV purposes.

Waste of time and money if you ask me. Much more important would be a complete reappraisal of the role of the referee and their treatment by the players. We all know they sometimes get things wrong but the constant whinging and sniping from players must be stopped. The game should take a lead from Rugby Union where only the 2 captains are allowed to speak to him and even then they have to behave in a deferential manner and accept his decision. Oh and the 10-minute sin-bin for yellow cards would be a good idea as well.
