Sorry to hear about the dogs Kev. With regard to the BBS. To me it has become quite snidey and back biting. It has also become quite predictable as well, you tend to know what is coming from posters before you even open the post and you can also predict what the response is likely to be. I miss posters such as yourself, Jay, ARK, Extremely Northern, TFP and my old friend Redstar (before he became too serious). It used to be a real fun place to be.
So sorry about the loss of Sable, coming home to an empty house must be really sad for you. Nothing I can say to help on that topic. Almost seems wrong to go back to the original topic but you are missed on here, at least by some of us, as you were one of the ones you could have a reasoned debate with and make posts to brighten the mood rather than the glass empty crowd who cant be even a bit happy even though we are a mid table Championship side, in the best shape for years and heading for the highest finish this Milennium
Sorry to hear about your loss kev, I know how much they were both part of your family With regards this site I actually really like it. I like the layout of it but as for the loss of regular contributers to this board I agree with what everyone else as said, we've lost some cracking folk, the humour is almost non existent, it's now replaced by repetive posts, I myself don't post as much as I use to, I know Whitey doesn't post as much because he kept getting bombarded with one question or another, Biglil. Jay icer, ponty to name but a few are really missed, I'll be honest I even miss Hemsy. At least he made it interesting
You'd think we'd suffered successive relegations and we're now in League 2. A minor few are just killing this site, who just follow each other's negative posts, liking everything each of them writes.
Was this on the bottom of the bbs page or the bottom of the main forum home page?. I don't recall it being at the bottom of the bbs section. There is a members online in the sidebar on the main forum home page. its just the same but at the side rather than the bottom.
Don't see the problem with people being negative. As a fan i'd be worrying if nobody ever moaned, because that would give the impression everything is perfect and there is always room for improvement. If ways people think can improve the club weren't brought up and everyone acted like everything is rosy, that would be worrying. People are going to ask about a supporters bar that's bigger, why our new scoreboard was no bigger than the old one, why we run out of replica shirts, why we lost nearly a million in such a successful season, why we let so many contracts get to last 12 months, why 13% of our ground can't be sat in, what happened to Linton etc. It's just human nature.
Really sorry to hear about Kev and Crystal's dogs....tough times. I'm.with alot of others regarding the site. I've felt for a while that the site is being dragged down by some over bearing posters and also the manner in which people post. Just look.at the threads from yesterday. The Leicester thread the Dortmund thread. The way people speak to each other is pretty nasty and devoid of any respect or courtesy. It's almost as if folks come on here to prove someone else wrong or have a go at someone. Sadly I know of lots of posters who don't contribute any more because of the atmosphere... it can be toxic some days. I'm not a fan of the new layout. The lack of the old threaded view where you could see easily on one page what the subjects were and who has contributed is a huge loss in my opinion. That said, I understand Gally had to do something and appreciate the efforts he's gone to. Just wish some of the old.posters would come back and people would treat each other with a bit of common courtesy.
Wasn't my intention to turn Dortmund thread into a slanging match - posted it because it was football related. I agree with what others have said - same few posters dragging this board down with their negativity. Some of the comments are appalling - I remember when I first joined it being a place where people could discuss football but also it was witty - that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. It just seems to mirror social media in general at the moment - people use the freedom of speech excuse to post bile. Shame!!
This is why I don't come on here or forums now full stop...1st post in ages. Surprised you didn't consider Vanilla forums or Invision...Personally couldn't give half a damn about the look of the forum, it should be the content on what matters and just putting honest and frank, the content isn't there, it's the above which is noted.
