Apparently Hecky's done all that himself, just today. Even delayed his holiday for it. No Health & Safety mind, I saw him up scaffold, on phone, talking to Mick McCarthy. No hard hat either!!
thats weird cos I went in the away stand to take the photo, he was also cleaning all the bird sheet off of the away seats, him his wife and kids were all dressed in Hawaiian shorts.... with the nippers saying - "daddy daddy - can we paint the walls next" I love to see little nippers so excited while on holiday. I never got chance to chat to his mrs, she was extending her vacation in the general area of the west stand bogs.... moaning about how lovely and clean they were!
what I Carnt understand is why the seating was cordoned of but you could still walk under the Dangerous siding
It would be nice if we could incorporate a new roof while we're doing repairs. It would make a massive difference to the stands old appearance.
Bloke who cleans all the bogs was seen at the ground also. He was in the East Stand Men's toilets. He was wearing a bright Hawaiian shirt and was in a deck chair wearing shades listening to CD's , supping a Coors and smoking a cigar. One of the lads who was down buying his ST asked him what he was doing. He told him he'd asked if he could have his holidays and they'd told him to tek em at his own convenience.!
My guess would be that it was actually safe and in no danger of falling but that it was in danger of being damaged to a dangerous level by people touching the wall so they stopped you from getting close to it by closing off those seats so you couldn't do further damage
Is it though? If the club doesn't own the ground, won't this be paid for by the council? I'm really not sure about this sort of stuff. Anyone know?
