Anyone on here been on any fairly recently? Looking for a change from the usual beach holiday so ideally plenty of ports of call. No idea at the moment where the best place / website to look and book is, any advice?
Hi Went on a 12 night med cruise last year and was really good. It's not cheap though but tbh nowt is these days. We flew to Barcelona then sailed to Cannes, 2 stops in Italy (can't remember port names) and went to Florence/Pisa and then Rome. Next stop was Athens, then Kusadasi in Turkey. Santorini was changed to Crete due to the 'swell' and then finally to Malta. A few days at sea in between. We also booked direct transfers for the Italy and Athens stops which were excellent and took us to places that the regular tours don't. Rome was the highlight. On board was really good. If you like to drink then a drinks package is a must. All drinks were top notch with a wide variety of beers (bottled lagers), good food and entertainment. Sailed with Royal Caribbean and booked through an independent. Happy to provide details via DM but have never done DM before so not a scooby how to do it. Good luck
Have a look at Igloo cruises. Only ever been with Thomson, suppose it all depends how much you want to pay.
We did a med cruise two summers ago with Thomson. All inclusive. It was excellent. Flew to Majorca, then jumped on board. Took in San Remo, Monaco, Rome, Florence, Pisa, Ajaccio and Palamos. I would recommend it to anyone. We are doing another cruise next year. Loved it. Waking up at different places, all beautiful. Spent time touring the main places during the day, then the nights on ship with great entertainment on board. Something amazing about being on such a huge vessel in the ocean with turquoise sea around you and dolphins, sunshine and blue skies. I regret not booking one this year if I'm honest. We are going Royal Caribbean next year I think, not sure where yet but already looking forward to it. A cruise is the ultimate holiday for me. The old myth that it's for old folk is over.
Going with P & O in a few days. Spain, Fance, Italy n Gibraltar. Usually go t Caribbean so dunt know what to expect
I have done several, if you want a top quality cruise look at Celebrity. If you want a cheaper cruise line but really nice ships you could consider MSC. Thompson usually have older ships that have been bought and refurbished from other lines. Good food, all inclusive drinks, entertainment and sunshine, what's not to like.
A friend of mine always highly recommends Sovereign Cruises but she does have expensive tastes. I don't know how much you have to spend but it might be worthwhile checking out the special offers page.
