Stuff like would you rather be promoted/win the title next season or your national side win the world cup. There's only one answer, right?

Yes. I absolutely despise the England football team. Have zero affiliation with them. I can't stand a large proportion of those that follow them abroad. It's similar in my affection as millwall are.

My country yes. Overpaid morons nah you're alright. I despise the greed they represent, the fact that sky and the premierleague are killing the soul of our national sport.

Have not enjoyed a single England match for years. Used to absolutely love national matches. Through the 90's and early 0's watched them all.

Edit: LOVED the Iceland match. Thoroughly enjoyed watching overhyped and overpaid idiots let people who support them down again.

I can only speak for myself, but no team has ever, or will ever, come before Barnsley.:)

It's their fault they're not very good.

Can't believe anyone would put the national team before their own club.

It wouldn't bother me if the national team was disbanded at 5pm today.

No. But how they behave, and how they act is.

It's just my opinion fella. You have a different one. Same reason I don't even watch match of the day any more. Greed. Championship going the same way. It's only Barnsley that keeps me interested in football.

This is the attitude of the premier league and the member clubs, and the fundamental reason England stay crap.

Its not their fault that Spain Germany France etc are simply stronger teams.

its not their fault the media & general public try and tear them down at every opportunity.

    * I don't put England over Barnsley, I just think that us getting promoted will happen a lot more in my lifetime than my nation being champions of the world

It's their fault Iceland, Costa Rica and Uruguay are stronger.

How anyone can be expected to be interested in the national team with the current manager is beyond me.

I've supported them through thin and thinner. Promotion for Barnsley every time for me.

We lost to Blackpool, Northampton and Altrincham. Are they stronger than us?

Sure they've under-performed recently and I agree that Southgate is a poor appointment but that should never make anyone actually lose interest in their own country.

Absolutely no interest in England whatsoever. I barely pay attention to their results any more.

I'd rather barnsley get mid table never mind promotion than England win the World Cup. Awful negative team, ridiculous managerial appointments and players that give less of a **** than I do.

Id jump at the chance to say that I was alive when England won the World Cup, and that is the choice Id make here to be honest.
And yes while Id love to see us Tykes go back to the Premship, that is at least something that I have seen already. And I really dont know why a lot of fans insist on choosing one over the other, why is it unfashionable to want to admit to supporting England at football ? (as annoying as they can be, they are still OUR nation like Barnsley are OUR club)

I have zero affection for the England . Overpaid spoilt primadonas. Diving, cheating and generally average. I watch them (occasionally) out of some bizarre sense of duty and usually regret it straight away.

There's only one team for me. If it wasn't for Barnsley I'd probably never watch another match.

    Love Barnsley. Hate football.

Some of the Chelsea / Arsenal / Man U 'supporters' were having this conversation at work a couple of years ago. I told them in all honesty that I'd rather see Barnsley win the Johnstone's Paint Trophy than see England win the World Cup. Watching the team I've supported since I was 8 win a trophy / promotion v watching a team I've never actually seen in person win a match on TV. Easy choice I reckon. We won the JPT a few months later too and I wouldn't swap that day out for any national team glory.

Rather Barnsley were promoted. Lost interest in the National team after Bobby Robson was dismissed.
