Did ok-- tailed off a bit toward towards the end. Agree with the centre half suggestion. Could be worth a go.
I'm not writing him off. I've seen him play before for Accrington, and he's a whole hearted player. Maybe can cover as full back in league 2, but his primary position at this level? Asking for trouble.
Well him and the others better be.. cos we in are infinite wisdom have decided thats who we are going with
He looks like a centre half, physically and in the way he moves about. Few wayward passes but had a feeling somehow he's going to be a big player for us.
I'm not writing any of them off either. If I recall the discussion Hecky and Jonathan Buchan had on Radio Sheffield when discussing our new recruits, they quoted Lee Johnson who reckoned that for players to get a full understanding of those around them, they need to play at least 100 competitive games together. Our lads haven't got that length of time to develop to that level, but what I believe is that Hecky has brought them in because the basic skill set is there. It's going to take time, patience and a lot of hard graft to improve them to the point that they start to develop a better understanding so they are better able to cut out the basic errors that appeared to be in evidence last night.
I get all that, but what I'm saying is I think he's physically suited to being a centre back. He doesn't have the pace or athleticism to be a full back.
We don't know do we CT. ? There has to be a tipping point in all of this seasonal "turmoil". If Hecky and Jamie can fashion a half decent squad out of what he wants and has already got, then for Maurice Lindsay's words in Fridays Chronicle to truly resonate with our fan base i.e. play-offs as a minimum, he should be able to at least retain the players we've got and be allowed to add more quality as the season progresses, so that the stated "vision" can be attained, otherwise as per usual it will be just seen as yet more empty rhetoric.
Pearson rarely played as a CB for Accrington, he's better as a full back and I'm sure he'll show that once he gets a run of games.
I get your point bud. From the brief glimpses we've seen ,Lindsay looks to be a certainty at centre back so going forward it will be interesting to see where Hecky thinks Pearson is best suited to play in the future.
Says he played all across the back four due to injuries. There is a big difference in filling in positions in league 2 and the championship.
