We were giving Sunderland too much respect, too much time and space on the ball. When we did have the ball we were giving it away cheaply. The turning point came, as I saw it from two bits of play. First Hammill chased and harried their full back who gave away a throw in. Next, Ugbo ran down their keeper and two central defenders who punted long and gave the ball away. It seemed like this showed the rest of the team what to do, they had to get in and among them and show no respect and it worked. Apart from one silly incident early on when he gave the ball away to Vaughan, Williams gave a defensive midfield masterclass, continually breaking up attacks and setting us on the front foot. My MoTM was between Adam, Williams and Potts for a great box to box display.
Williams was the complete opposite of himself last week, at the Blunts he was bypassed in midfield, looked weak and was overwhelmed but today he played like a bloody Trojan, how he didn't get MotM I'll never know, but then again there was a few candidates today
