All of the above, in spades.

A properly moving, humbling piece in the programme and, as suggested above, those who have had bad things to say about Mr Cryne should crawl into a corner and be thoroughly ashamed. This is not some faceless entity who has swanned into the boardroom to get whatever he can out of it, either in financial or glory terms. This is a true fan of our beloved football club.

We can only wish him all the best, and to enjoy the best of the time that he has left.

If you think about it all of us are heading for the end of season games. Some of us are still enjoying late summer/early autumn. Others are already rushing through April, dreading the last match.........

Lord knows what would have happened to us without him. He's kept us safe, got us back to where we belong and presided over possibly the finest season I've witnessed in 50 years of watching. Thankyou Patrick.

Goodness me just shed a boat load of tears reading that.
I think he has not only touched the supporters of Barnsley FC but the whole community in general.
Most people in Barnsley and surrounding area knows who he is and what he has done for the club and town.
His legacy and memory will live on and be archived into the clubs growing history and be looked back on with respect ,admiration, fondness and gratitude .
Thank you Patrick , I for one really thought we were gonna lose the club and you not only saved it but helped it flourish and fight for survival amongst it's historical place in league status despite the unfair opposition.
We salute you Patrick and your family and here's wishing your around for quite a few seasons to come.
    Thoughts and prayers.

    Moving words indeed.

At least Patrick has seen a good degree of success from his stewardship.

Hope he finds peace, contentment and love in spades before the end.

That's an incredibly tough read, one that has brought a tear to my eyes. PC continues to be a magnificent "custodian" (as he puts it) and one that all Reds fans owe a great debt of gratitude as without his initial and continued involvement I dread to think where we would now find ourselves. I wish both PC and his family nothing but the best in the months and years ahead.

    Very sad to read that
I would also like to echo the comments of everyone else and also hope that his remaining time is much longer and less painful than is indicated in the program

It is clear that Patrick has seen those posts from a handful of 'keyboard warriors' criticising, often quite maliciously, and without the knowledge or understanding of the circumstances, both his professional and personal circumstances. It is clear also, that he was hurt by these comments, referring diplomatically, as he did, to the "occasional cruelty of the internet" but the support he received from the overwhelming majority made it tolerable.

It is only fitting that the supporters of Barnsley FC and Patrick Cryne do their utmost at the next home match to demonstrate their support for Patrick. To that end I hope the flag will be making an appearance. We all know PC does not like a fuss, but it should be of paramount importance that the contribution to the club's survival and current position is virtually 100% down to his commitment to the club. 'One of us' indeed!

To those lesser mortals who carp and moan about how the club is run and even those of us lesser mortals who don't, unlike us, Patrick Cryne will be remembered many years after his passing and will be for ever associated with Barnsley Football club and its history.

I echo the thoughts of others on this thread and hope that he defies the odds. Thanks for everything PC

When they say 'no man is bigger than the club' then in this case for me Mr Cryne is Mr Barnsley FC.

Patrick Cryne rescued our club when we looked destined to be doomed.....I will be eternally grateful for your time, effort and passion you have shown to this football club......I think I can speak for just about everyone on this board and everyone that's supports B.F.C that you will always be a legend in our eyes.

God bless you and thankyou once again

God bless Patrick and his family. Keep fighting, Bfc legend in my eyes would be nice to do the light up oakwell against villa on the 130th anniversary for him again in front of the sky cameras.

Wow! What a man! We have been fortunate to experience a lot of good times in recent years, definitely outweighing the bad and Mr Cryne is one of the main reasons for our success and feel good factor. When you look at the silly arguments both on this board or with our own loved ones it certainly puts things into perspective. Patrick Cryne will be remembered as a legend!

    A total legend.

I dread to think where we would be without him.

Stockport or York springs to mind.

Truly, one man did save us. We were on a direct route to the abyss under your Sean Lewises and Peter Doyles.

The programme is very hard to read. I feel so sad.

Thankyou Patrick. The club, the town and the people of Barnsley wouldn't be the same without what you have done for us.
