It's frustrating, but it's not bad. This team needs time. Hecky needs time to get the right team together.
Eyup? An hour ago you were supporting the rights of 'fans' to scapegoat individual players in a young, inexperienced side. Wouldn't the acquisition of testicles have been good advice then, also? I reckon those young lads in red shirts have a few pairs to spare...
No I wasn't, I was asking you if having an opinion, negative or otherwise is permissible. Having an opinion that x players isn't up to isn't scapegoating
Where did people expect us to be... seriously. We are work in progress ... again and again (recurring infinitum )
I don't know as I can fully concur but the position remains the same as it was before the season started; Can we get enough players good enough, quickly enough to stay up? As it stands I honestly don't know. I think it'll be too much for a few of them; we'd be extremely lucky if every player was up to it. Let's not forget that not all players of previous intakes didn't work out. I don't think we're helping ourselves with the style or system but perhaps it's all we can do. The big change to me is we're going out now trying to avoid defeat not trying to win. I have to say that if we are looking in trouble towards Jan and the takeover has gone through that there might be little or no understanding of the **** hand Hecky has been dealt when the team was flogged off and replaced with "potential" and they won't hesitate as I very much doubt they will want to start from L1.
The players we have a currently not good enough. That is not to say some will not improve, hopefully we pick up some points along the way strengthen in Jan and have enough to avoid the bottom 3.
But if we seriously want to stay up again this season, then time is something we don't have and Hecky knew these risks when the season started. We need good results and fast, and saying we outplayed a top team like Wolves today and we were unlucky etc. well for me that only tells half the story. The main argument is all down to this negative formation yet again and having us set up to get a 0-0 right from the first minute. Had we gone for it today and lost 5-1 I wouldn't be as disappointed as I am right now in Hecky, for going with Bradshaw as the lone striker.
We are short of a couple of players and recruitment in January will be crucial (no more potential) but I honestly feel we will have enough to stay up. In regards of Hecky I would hope the new owners have done their homework and see exactly what he achieved before we made the decision to asset strip.
I have no doubt that staying up this season will be their primary objective but with the right support the best chance of achieving this has to be keeping Hecky. Just my opinion of course.
