Most people sat round me noticed Potts was trying his best but was strugling.from where we sat ponti end you could see that .Well regarded from set of fans sat near me he was putting a shift in and still was influential regardless of his injury or as we thought fategue.
Football is a confidence game. Getting behind the team when they need support lifts the players on the pitch .As a group of fans we have not untill now shown negative tendances towards the team . The twelth man.and it secured promotion and a jpt trophy. Those young men on the pitch need a boost to motivate them from the oakwell faithful.
We perhaps need to remember that although Hecky is the "well paid" head coach of the club, I'm also sure there's a part of him that is still the supporter whose heart is with those of us in the stands. I think it's natural that frustrations on both sides are being felt and heard, we all want success, whatever that is defined as, and arguably he's entitled to an opinion as both coach and supporter. We've recruited potential, some will come off, some won't. But the scale of recruitment puts the brakes on immediate forward progress I reckon. Work and family commitments have limited my attendance to date, but what I've missed since February more than anything is that confident, spontaneous and carefree football we played for 12 months. But for me that comes from a side that develops together, plays together. With this group, it might not happen. But now is too early to judge. The 12 months of champagne football took 2 years to arrive with the core of that team. We've got the right man, not a flawless man, in charge imho.
He's not learning is quite a sweeping statement Phil because it suggests that you think our relatively poor start is solely down to Hecky. If in your opinion he isn't learning at this stage of his career then do you think he has the potential to learn how to be a manager or does he demonstrate a proclivity towards failure? My opinion is that he is being asked to do a very difficult job with very limited resources and he's trying to utilise those resources in the way he thinks will deliver the best results. He is getting things wrong but under these difficult circumstances I think that is understandable. He's demonstrated to me that he can do the job and that he will get things right.
You seem very pent up and angry. I can only put this down to a few possible issues- Problems at home (mortgage worries etc) Relationship problems Work related stress.
You'd have all those things and more if you had the same curse cast on you that he has of having to spend all of your disposable income and free time on watching a football team you despise.
Hecky's the best manager we've had since Wilson the first time round. And the club owes you fvck all. You're a customer - if you don't like it that much then stop going. I can't stand Tom Cruise, so I simply don't go and see his films. I can't imagine paying to sit through every one of his films with a face like a slapped arse and then moaning about him online non-stop.
You're getting too personal with him. He's a pain in the arse but you can't be criticising or question his life or life choices.
Just listened the interview. What an over reaction on here. Something & nothing & he was right in what he said
He was extremely personal with bobby hassell and with bobby's wife, he's been extremely personal with his abuse of hecky too. Don't want people commenting on your personal situation and decisions? Then don't slag off and abuse the personal situations of people's heroes. Simple
Indeed he was. He should have been banned for it but he's still here. It doesn't mean that people can question his life choices on here.
I don't understand how anyone couldn't have 100% confidence in Hecky given all he's done and how successful he's been. If we've got a new manager or one who hasn't been too successful fair enough but he's by far the best manager I've known us have and trust absolutely every decision he makes because he's earned that right. I occasionally disagree with tactical or team issues but these are few and far between but I always believe what he says. The fact he has on occasion been so blunt and critical (such as after Rotherham debacle) means when he says things like he has recently that we are ahead of where he expected us to be and miles ahead of where we were that's highly encouraging in my opinion. He's certainly not a manager like Flitcroft who comes out with positive stuff all the time to appease the fans meaning whatever he says can always be believed
Nothing football related about slagging off bobby hassells wifenand telling her to **** off back to mansfield
