Can’t see Gardiner replacing Williams. Lacks energy, aggression and the ability to make a forward pass. That said I guess we need some form of back up for Williams.

Looked to play it sideways or backwards at every opportunity.

I thought he did OK. More of a problem was Potts and McGeehan together. Too similar in my opinion (and not just their haircuts!)

Gardner was fine in Williams' role.

We weren't bad at all - we were playing a team who defended well. Bit of a stalemate game.

Pearson was good. McGeehan is not good enough.

We were more attack minded when Barnes and Moncur came on.

They fluked a goal when it had 0-0 written all over it.

I think tonight showed how good Williams and Barnes really are. We missed them, and it's worrying that they aren't our players! If Barnes carrys on then one of two things will happen, Leicester recall him, or a team higher up the league will buy him in January.

The three central Midfielders let us down. One never went over the half way line, one was missing in Action the other involved but a lack of quality when it mattered.

No way will Leicester sell him this season. He signed a 4 year contract last summer I believe.....?

I'd say he's been because he's spot on. Another goal Davies is at fault for flapping at a cross and his kicking was worse than I have ever seen from him. Resting players for Leeds when we've just had a international break was poor. Potts seems to have a phobia of shooting and baffling to many got the MOTM award. We played a typical Colin side and **** out of challenges and could have got stuck in more. Our foul throws were annoying. We didn't work the keeper all night.

Gardner did an excellent job tidying up and protecting and distributing.

Potts put himself about a bit although I think motm was a bit excessive.

McGeehan was insufficiently skillful or positive or quick to be useful in any sense. I hope he's still recovering from his injury, cos if he isn't then he will not be good enough.

So you think they were good? There for the taking but we had too much of a don’t lose, play it Square attitude.

Gardner won’t displace Williams. Seen nothing in him to think he can make any difference. A square Ball merchant.

Did we have to shots on goal?

Missed opportunity, don't mind losing if we've had a real go at the other team but to go out with a whimper against an anti-football team who were happy to play for a 0-0 from minute one is a real disappointment. We had the beating of them out-wide particularly with Adam in the first half and then Barnes when he came on but didn't use them enough and when we did the delivery to them was oh, so slow.

I don't want to single anyone out as nobody was at the top of their game but the midfield three were ultra-ordinary. I just don't see the point in Gardner, if Jared Bird can't do what Gardner did tonight then he needs to pack it in. Potts rated a 7 for effort but 1 for product/skill (shoot, Brad, shoot ffs) and McGeehan is not currently the player I watched a couple of times playing for Luton at all, insipid at the moment. Hedges is too lightweight and Thiam is not a lone striker in a million years.

He's far better than Mcgeehan currently is who is worse than anyone for the backwards pass.

Gardner played some exceptional balls into the channels and over the top tonight.

He did his job well giving it to the wingers who were wasteful.

    A few points

We were the better team, we played the better stuff , we don't have a lone striker in our squad, there was no atmosphere in the ground, too many changes, missed Williams, hedges not ready yet , we need a hold up striker or change formation, not sure what type of midfielder mcgeehan is, the weather had a big impact on the quality of the game, I could not watch a warnock away team regularly, Barnes should have started, Thiam is interesting to watch but not fit enough and doesn't fit with our style of play, Ugbo pace may have helped tonight. Isgrove a big miss, inexperience in our team is costing us points regularly. We will improve.

For the life of me I can’t understand why some folk go to football matches. Especially not to watch the Reds. Were were the better team playing against an experienced cynical team. They collapsed every time they were touched, made several “off the ball” intimidating assaults and committed half a dozen blatant fowls to stop our attacks. I know this is all good “professional” stuff but we were very unlucky to lose. See how many of their moves made the highlights ( clue - it was one )

He'll play a full season here and be ready for Leicester next season. They're not selling him to another championship club any time soon.
