On a different note to the on field problems today, the East lower had completely sold out of food again after queuing for a good 14 minutes of half time. Nice to see the new catering team doing better than the old 1. Not

Sounds like it was really busy then. Never really understood why people can't go a couple of hours without eating aby say considering the prices.

Bought my daughter a burger because we didn't have time before the game to get lunch. Never again. Totally tasteless and full of water. inedible. Threw it away.
I wouldn't ordinarily buy food in the ground, and usually if we're short of time we go to the Oakwell sandwich shop... much better value for money.

Love a Chicken Balti Pie though, you only seem to be able to get them in football grounds.

Pie & peas from Oakwell Sarnie shop are lovely! Much better than the snap inside ground.

I remember back in the days when I stood in the West Stand lower, and even further back as a little kid when we sat in the upper, the burgers were absolutely tremendous. Maybe it's rose tinted taste buds, I don't know, but I know that I looked forward to them nearly as much as to the match sometimes!

Same place, same anticipation, but for me it was a warm, Albert Hirst, pork pie and a Bovril.

It's not really about whether you can go that long or not, it's about the fact that the club advertise that they sell them and then run out. Sometimes it's convenient (in Fired's case of not having time to eat before), sometimes it's to make it an additional treat (buying a kid a burger at half time as a bribe to be good), sometimes it's just a force of habit (like buying popcorn in a cinema), no matter what the reason though, you expect at a football match to be able to buy food and drink at half time so them running out is not good enough, especially at a lunch time kick off when most people would have had to set off before having time to eat anything.

Fair enough mainly I was just saying sometimes things sell out. I suppose it's a business decsion that its better to sell out than have excess left over.

Whilst we're on the subject, why don't clubs take card for the food in this contactless day and age? It's easy for them to set up, saves handling cash, and it's quicker (actually, that brings me to two other rants, but I'll leave it for now).

FAMILY STAND..............I don't normally eat at the ground, but because it was extremely cold I went to get a couple of pie's for me and my young son 5 minutes before half time to warm us up. I was shocked that there was NO hot food left, walked away with 2 packets of crisps. Absolutely terrible management

Sounds like it was all over the east stand then. It not so much me not been able to wait 2 hours to eat, but the fact of the young 1 waiting all week to be able to have his hot dog at Oakwell which as mentioned above is used as a bribe material. I could understand once but this is the third time this season and it's not even reached Christmas yet!!
