    He said his contract would be sorted out this week, he did not say that the takeover would be completed this week

    I think you're right. I wonder if he's going with EE. At least with the mobile contract sorted he can phone for the takeaway.

    When did he say that
    I read his tweet earlier in the week which he said it was near completion , incidentally was it said on here once that it was going to be completed one thursday in October ? or is my memory playing tricks

    No your mind isn't playing tricks. The takeover has been reported as being close to completion a couple of times although I don't recall any official sources being quoted.
