Well judging from what I've seen so far, not many could have done much worse. It's the dullest, most uninteresting football (along with LJ's) I've ever seen, if they had even a bit of a go I'd be much more sympathetic. But then when you think about it, I don't think many managers would have failed to get us promoted in 15/16. Did reasonably well until January and since then has been a complete disaster, hardly been the unparalleled success some on here would lead you to believe.

I agree with some of that. Not all. I don't think he's the best thing since sliced bread either and going forward hes going to have more weight of expectation upon his shoulders.

I'm happy to see how he does and to give him a clean sheet with some better tools to work with.

As for doing worse, there are 3 managers from the 4 teams below us that are doing worse, and a 4th that's just been replaced, but you haven't answered my question.

    Who could do better?

Maybe he should just watch them same amount as you so he's more informed of who he should play and where? Just ignore training, players ability, players form, strengths, attributes, confidence, their development and potential. He should just buy player's who are good enough for championship that all the other teams in the world haven't bought shouldnt he. Not sure why he hasnt thought about that. Wow you are right, Hecky out, he's ****.

Uwe Rosler, Gary Alexander. I'm not one for jumping on the bandwagon of half season wonders too early but Paul Hurst at Shrewsbury has done exceptionally well. That said I've not called for him to be replaced, just pointed out he's not the gods gift some on here would have you believe.

Well he seems to ignore most of that anyway. Potts, Moncur, Pearson, Davies all continue to get picked regardless of their form, strength (or lack of them), potential (or lack of it) etc etc

With these players? You've said yourself half of them are rubbish.

You've also said league one is easy, and anyone would have got us promoted.

Not sure I'd swap for a league one manager.

I said league one would be easy with the side we had. The fact LJ had that group bottom is staggering but fact still remains that must be one of the best groups of players that league has seen for many years.

I don't think many managers could do much with this group of players but it's almost like PH has resigned himself to trying not to lose too heavily rather than actually have a bit of a go which is something I can't stand. Do you actually think he'd have had such an easy ride if he wasn't from Barnsley?

Davies played very well last Saturday, and Moncur was at the centre of most of our best spell in the second half. Pearson is only playing because of injuries,

Mccarthy was very poor, mcgeehan who you mention in another post has done nothing of note to date.

You can't pick on certain players and not others because with the very rare exception none play well every week or even for full games, but in terms of potential I'd say that the majority have showed signs at one point or other.

They're all very young and still learning against very good opposition and need our support not slagging off. Same as everyone at the club.

So go on, tell me which of the players in your opinion will turn out to be key players for us in a year or two or even go on to bigger things....

there is some real tosh spoken on here and the rumours are terrible .How does anyone apart from the Manager and concerned player know who is or isn't comeing or going from oakwell .NOBODY has a clue its all speculation not even that its roumer which is really a ;oad of crap ..Everybody has the managers ear according to the roumers. If they don't want us to know then we wont find out. I bet Hecky has a real laugh at some of us. Ill start one Gazza has bean seen at the ground this week I bet he is going to play up front with Bradshaw.(ets see how long that takes to do the rounds LOL

Funny you say that, I heard that exact same myself. If we can get him fit and sober he'd be much more mobile than Potts.

I'm not from Barnsley, so I don't have owt to do with that "one of our own" stuff, but I don't think it's that anyway.

We stopped sacking managers when little Lee was here. Wed done it too often for only a short term gain.

Takeover was on the cards and people were willing to give him chance with a better hand dealt.

If he continous in the same vein for some time he will be sacked, whether he's local or not. That won't wear with he money men.

It's you saying anyone could have got us up with that team, maybe they could, but it wasn't just anyone. The record books will forever show that it was Hecky. That's a fact. As are the 9 away wins that I had the pleasure to see last season.

Be truthful , were you saying we had the best group players the the league had seen for many years when we were bottom , on our losing run & getting dumped out of the FA Cup by a non league outfit ? I doubt you said anything like that, in fact I would go as far as to say that you would have been on your soap box moaning

I haven't said any would. I even mentioned in another post that Hecky said some would make it and others wouldn't. It's the nature of making such a step up.

Given some changes in January and strong leadership, any of them could improve, and it could be the ones that neither of us currently rate.

Yeh, it was pretty obvious from the outset that season we had the best squad in the league. The only thing that stopped us running away with it was enduring LJ for 5 months of the season. Didn't take a genius to see what changes were needed to make us a winning side.

    DonnyTyke for manager.

And president, prime minister, Archbishop of Canterbury, Radio 1 breakfast host and the next Dr Who.

Obviously an all seeing all knowing genius whom we should all aspire to be merely 10% as good as.

I remember the post well when we were bottom of League One in November 2015 where he said that we had the best squad in the division and anybody at all could get us promoted.

What are tonight’s lottery numbers kid?

Ever thought about being a football manager since you've got it all figured out? You could just turn up on match days.
