Well, its blatantly obvious to everybody that Hecky IS taking us down. Do we want to stay up or re-start in Lg One again, and more importantly, do the new owners want that ?.
If he wasn't a local lad there would be a lot more scrutiny on his position. Dont care who you are but 4 home league wins in 2017 is unacceptable.
No. We need an amended plan. Sell all your team and you will get relegated whether it’s Hecky or Alex Ferguson as your manager.
Indeed, its disgraceful rather than just unacceptable and we cant keep using last January's disastrous window as an excuse. And as I and various other fans have pointed out on other boards, we would have boll*oked any other manager and hounded him out long before now, if he had had this sort of bad results during this calendar year.
No, but we need to be looking at where the "plan" is taking us. Need 3-4 quality signings, or we are gonna be playing Luton Town next season. Some good footballers in the team, but, as I said at the start of the season we need the old heads. I'll keep watching them, but glad personal situation means I'm not watching us today. If we lose at Sunderland (which I think is likely), we are going to be climbing a mountain. We are OK at doing that though. @teamslikebarnsley
Its nothing to do with who he is or where he is from, its about consistent undermining and dismantling of a fantastic group of winners that had been built as of January 2017, continuing on through the summer. He is managing a squad that simply isn't good enough for this level and that is not his fault whatsoever. People spent the second half of last season ignoring how sh*te results were and not being angry at the right people because our good first half masked the heart that had been ripped out of the team. The job was finished in the summer and no manager would be able to coach whats left into a respectable position, even though prior to this streak Hecky did manage a bit of a run. He deserves a chance to coach a team with some value again at the very least.
Lee Johnson wasn't, that was in a lower position and in the league below, with higher proportional investment to the division.
After giving them a chance against the Nobbers, why were both Mallan & Isgrove dropped to the bench again ?. Hecky is guilty of some appalling rank bad managerial choices, where after all this time he and the rest of us havent got a clue what our best squad and formation is. How much longer does he deserve eh before it really does become 'Hecky out' ?. Edit: so we've scored and scraped a point, who knows what that might do for our confidence. We've got a massive job ahead now in January, and I wish we could send Gardner & Ugbo back early.
Hecky is only still in this job because of where he's from and his history with the club. There is no other reason. We haven't won in ages. We can't score. His team selections are baffling time after time. His substitutions are mental too. He has January to save his job, after that, and if there is no improvement. He needs to go.
But we wanted Johnson out didnt we, most of us did and Mr. Cryne made the decision with his heart, he said it wouldnt be fair to sack Johnson even though he deserved it.
Come on lads. We lost our players because we did not give them right contracts. We have not got the players second time round and they are simply out of their depth. No coach can make racehorses out of nags. We are halfway through season and need some older heads to encourage the young ones who might make it. If Hecky is not supported in January then we will go down Simple fact
Spot on. We can change coach but if we don't improve the playing personnel results will follow a similar trend.
I have seen huge improvements despite all the injuries over the last couple of months, pretty sure I am watching the same matches but some of you lot are doom and gloom merchants. After gutting the squad we were never going to be pushing for promotion this season and the realistic expectation was that we would be where we are now. So we are where we expected to be, and improving.
It appears to me after watching that,we need a ball playing midfielder,a hard f---er ala Scowen to break things up,big target man and another player similar to Bradshaw to take the pressure off him. Defence will be ok and in wide positions we Can Put A Cross In.
He’s in the job still because the “club” made a pigs ear of last Jan and last summer. Players were recruited from too low a level to make a competitive side. This isn’t Hecky’s fault. But he’s an easy target
